Root One click Root!

Got a brand spankin new prevail on the way and got a question.
Should I do the one click root/shabbymod before I activate with Boost or does it really matter?

nah doesnt much matter altho i would recommend activative and getting the update then installing shabbymod/root
 
I am trying to root my galaxy prevail. I can't get the usb drivers to download and I can't find the file to root it. Can anyone help me?
 
I'm also having trouble rooting. Using a Mac I'm not sure how to download the drivers (it's a .exe file). I tried googling for them and no results yet.

I tried running the script anyway and got this message (shown below), I'm assuming because no drivers? Just in case I tried rebooting, starting the script while rebooting. SD card is out, USB debugging on, and I made the changes to the script that was suggested previously ($adb).

Any help is appreciated, thanks for everything so far!!

message while trying to root:

failed to copy 'su' to '/system/xbin/su': No such file or directory
failed to copy 'Superuser.apk' to '/system/app/Superuser.apk': Read-only file system
failed to copy 'busybox' to '/system/xbin/busybox': No such file or directory

Nevermind! I got it working, I think I had the timing off for starting the script when rebooting it.

Sorry about such a stupid question but is shabbymod a rom that is already rooted or what. Thanks. And can I have a download link to verson 0.8? Thanks!

i dont understand it, at least this guy apologizes and has grammar. but my rom, (the only one out for the prevail at this time), is stickied... ergo its at the top.. links are right there on the front page!

Now THAT was funny, sad, entertaining, etc. all at the same time. Wonder how "Smokey" got his handle? The "Indulge" is an appropriate phone. He might need to pray to Odin to fix his phone. That exchange sounded a lot like the old Abbot and Costello, Who's on First? sketch. You certainly have a lot of patience. They say that is a virtue.

Hello. I am newbie. Anyway I have tried following the steps on this thread but I am still having trouble because my dos screen says adb is not a recogniziable program. What I am doing wrong. I have EE14 on my phone and my PC is a Windows 7 32-Bit
