Root Open Source Eclair Development

Awesome! Could you post bugs/problems you are already aware of, so that we can concentrate on other areas?

I look forward to seeing real Android!

My first thoughts are this build is faster than ANY custom Eclair Rom we have, and Im using all stock - no JIT, Zipalign, OC or Deodexing has been done I don't believe, and this thing screams!

Unfortunately, I'm getting the same roaming issue I was getting with the Froyo build. If I turn off data roaming I lose my network connection, something which has never happened on stock, Velocity, Raptor or Punisher.

All aosp builds are deodexed and have all apks zipaligned by default. Jit is also enabled and all binary files are cross compiled targeting the armv6 arch stock is armv5. Oc is there but not enabled by default. I also agree on the speed. Do not use turbo stuff on this one as it will slow it down. Consider this turbov2.

I'm actually a bit confused by this...

Is this a working Froyo on the Ally with voice calling, 3G data and camera working?

It wasn't very descriptive, unless "Open source eclair development" means something that I dont know about. lol

Its 2.1 build from source. Its not an LG build just strictly android.

One major thing i noticed. No sound from audio comes from the back speaker. Such as Youtube and Last.fm. Sound plays from the top front speaker. Also in Dev Tools > Terminal when i try and change the font size it defaults back to 9. Theres also some brokeish animations while using landscape mode. Will get logcats sometime tommarow or monday.

Does this support a2sd? Do I need to flash both files offered? If so in which order? W/wo wipes on cache, data, delvik, etc? I use ROM Manager. I'm still at grade school level in my knowledge! 3 month old noob!! Can't wait to try this, thanks. :D

Noticed this is a "test ROM",... do I need to ask if I can do this since it's in the test phase?
Should someone at my level wait til smarter people fix bugs & such?

If you have no previous developer experience then I would consider waiting for a Beta or Final Stable release.

You may be right. I don't have that kind of experience so maybe I'll follow your suggestion and wait a bit. But I'm gonna keep an eye on this one. I'm excited about these things that have nothing to do with the corp. world.
