Root Optimus Elite root with an apk

In the famous words of Hancock "Good Job, Good Job"

LG Enlighten vs700zs5 rooted
use this one:
Poot.apk with support for PCD Venture / ARM5 dgid06
BOOM ...ROOTED
the other throws error 87
the other fail
Now what ...Updateing to jellybean....
up yours verizon.....

A REALLY BIG THANKS FOR GIANTPUNE
:car:

i think this still works BUT, now..idk why..the last line of the
+'s and -'s where it usually says "haxx lives another day"
it gives me a (-) and says (something something somehing...you need to reboot) all the others are (+)
i installed superuser and root-checker...and had gained root.
HOWEVER...supersu does not work as it will not install the correct binaries but idk it thats them or just how root was aquired.

i used poot to root my pcd venture.
and i havent restarted yet, after the initial restart after the above happened. so idk if its going to stick.
will update if necessary

Okay so this my first time ever rooting a phone, I followed directions step by step then got to a road block...

Got to the SU Binary Updater everything checks off until I get to "Making sure new su works_ fail!"

If anybody can tell me what I did wrong and how to fix it I will greatly appreciate it.

Please and thank you in advance.

It sounds like you were prompted by the superuser app to allow root access and you denied it and told it to remember that selection. One of the times superuser will request rights is when it installs a new binary and tests it out. Go to the application settings and clear the data for superuser and then try again.

Just got a second OE.
Used the this method to root the phone.
Boy was that a lot easier to root then the first time I did it. LOL

Installing CWM was also much easier.

Thanks for the very easy root / CWM install apk's.

Nope. Install the update, it should break your root. No apps will be deleted or anything upon install. Correct me if I'm wrong but i believe you need stock recovery installed for updates to be installed. After you do the update tho just rerun poot and it will re root it again the same as before.

And as long as you haven't removed stock (came-with-the-phone) system apps. I believe that was an issue with some VM users updating their firmware - when they were rooted and had removed some system bloatware, it caused the firmware update to fail. This may be the case with Sprint, as well, so be careful.

I am using an optimus logic. I have downloaded the programs and ran them. However, i get a message saying it could not create the su. I am new to android and am not sure if there is something else i am supose to bee doing. I would greatly appreciate any help.

The Optimus Logic has a root already located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963232

I have tried this metoid a few different times. Oneclick always encounters and issue and has to close. I have read meany of the forums and pages on rooting. As a result I was hoping to be able to use the poot methoid. Thank you for the link though.

P.s. since this post i was able to achieve root. There is a one click located here http://androidarea51.com/***-all-things-root-***-174/arearom-one-click-root-recovery-superuser/

Got my elite the other day, rooted with this apk the next day.

It took less time to root then it did to download the apk. I'd say that's some damn fine work.

Just a heads up for others, if you also use the cwm noob installer, the version of minstro in the op didn't work. Had to uninstall and reinstall from the play store ( it was too old)

Yes, you need ministro II as stated and linked to in the CWM FAQ sticky. And yes again, you need to uninstall the original ministro first before installing the new one.

My sort of point was some time could probably be saved by downloading it from the play store right off the bat instead of installing, running, uninstalling, reinstalling, running.

Point taken. But does anybody know if ministro ii works with poot? I don't see why not, but I haven't seen any reports of it working.

Isn't it just the same thing with updated libs? In which case I don't see why not.....unless of course poot requires certain versions.

Excellent! Worked like a charm on my Optimus Elite. New to Android, never tried to root before so I was apprehensive but everything went perfectly. Many thanks to giantpune!
