Optimus V for $49.99

I was in a huge line at a Milwaukee area Target just before midnight. i just assumed that by the time I got into the store, the phones would be sold out. They had plenty. To think I was dangerously close to popping the $150 for the phone just a few weeks ago. This is definitely an upgrade from my Rumor Touch.

I stood in line at the Target in Broken Arrow, OK (a suburb of Tulsa) for two hours last night. I was in the fifth or sixth group to go in (they let 30 in at a time, at about a 30 second interval). I was able to pick up one for me and there was one more left on the endcap. I don't know if there were more in the aisle. As soon as I go it I paid for it and left the store. Total time in the store-10 minutes.

Now time to root and flash backside. ;) mine are just going to be mini tablets for the kids but I still want them to have all that power.

I ended up buying on earlier in the week to price adjust, and after a lot of confused Target employees telling me different things, I figured I'd try the line around 9:30-10 PM. Waited til 12, got right in within 2 mins, bought one and was out by 12:10.

No one was even in the contract phone isle. I would bet there are still one or two there now. The good thing is I got it, returned the full price one, and learned never to go to a Black Friday sale again. It felt like waiting on line for a Disney ride about capitalism.

Plenty left at the local Target (Portsmouth/Greenland N.H.) at 8 a.m. this morning. Now I can feel safe flashing my original.

How long did you have to wait in line before you could turn on your computer...hopefully you didn't get pepper sprayed!
I didn't wait at all, didn't even know they were on sale. I just happened to see them while checking for some other things.

I got 3 at one store and another 3 at the second, all my Xmas shopping is done! The kids are all getting Optimus V's for Xmas!!!!! Great deal!

My local Target had 4 Optimus V's on the shelf at 4:00 on Friday. They did not sell them out immediately. Not sure why, but I picked one up for $50.

Got a replacement, as my old one has external case damage. Any idea how I can move over my application data without rooting the phones?

If your rooted use Titanium Backup. If not, transfer everything you can to the uSD card(this should save the data of the ones you transfer). Write down the name of all your apps so you can remember all the ones you downloaded. Any paid app will be in the "my app" section of the market.
Your going to have to download them all over again if your not rooted.

I worked up the strength to get up at 5AM to walk to Radioshack and get my HTC and I'm happy with it :D

I hear that! While I didn't go near any of the stores on Black Friday, I still say if you are happy with your phone then that's all that really matters. :p ;)
