Optimus V on sale @ Best Buy - $65

For those that may be interested, Best Buy currently has the Optimus V for $65. Not quite as good a deal as the Target $50 Black Friday offer, but still a great price to pick up as a backup or gift! :cool:

I think it's an incredible deal, just at the wrong time. I'm not exactly broke, just awfully bent.
 
I think we'll see more and more deals on this phone...at this point the phone is somewhat old in technology life. Still a great phone for the money, but if you can't grab one with this deal, don't worry, a new deal will be along in the near future.

Only from a marketing perspective, I think.

I terms of pure tech specs, the Optimus line was never on the cutting edge. (In other words, it was planned as a mid-range phone from the start.) It is one of the very best phones in its range (because of apparently very solid build quality and because VMU smartly decided not to tinker with stock Android).

Yep, I missed the Black Friday deals but had been reading about this phone, so I went to Best Buy last night and bought one, then found these great forums today! (Oh, and the Virgin Mobile folks got me ported and up and running in about twelve hours - excellent!)

I want to buy one for my D but she already has a phone (on VM's $25/mo plan) and a pretty new to her iTouch....can't see the use for a V at the moment. Even at that killer price. I really want to get it for her though!

I don't disagree, but my point was because of the age of the phone in technology terms, seeing deals on this phone are going to become more and more common IMHO.

BTW, I believe that Target and Radio Shack will meet BB's pricing.
 
A good price for a touchscreen media player, with VOIP phone capability.

Only thing missing, compared to dedicated media/MP3 players, is DRM decoding for protected WMA content (library audiobooks, subscription music).
 
From what i remember with best buy website sale ads, they put the new ads up on Sunday. So this sale should run until Saturday or Sunday unless they renew it for another week.

This sale is pretty insane. I might pick up too if I don't find a nice holiday sale on the Motorola Triumph. (I personally wanted a phone like that with a bigger screen, but I can settle for this one.)

You might be right, but... virgin still sells the Rumor2 which has been around for years and they sell that phone for a whopping $89.

Man, that is cruel! I used cloth diapers on my first kid and what a nightmare. Your eyes would water from the ammonia smell coming from the diaper pail and you could cut firewood with the diapers after they were in the pail a while. Four years later we had another kid and you better believe we bought disposable diapers.

They can discontinue it, but they can't "end the life" of it. That's really up to the user and how long they want to go before wanting to upgrade.

Since several of VM's Beyond Talk phones have been having good sales lately, I wager it is because their next phone is soon to be released, and it is likely to be another big hit.
