Root Orange Backup (Nandroid)

I Ran Across An App On The Market Called "Orange Backup".
Apparently It Lets You Make Nandroid Backups Without Having
To Boot Into Recovery. So That You Don't Have To Miss Any
Phone Calls Or Text Messages. Made A Phone Call After It Started
Backing Up To Test This Theory.

Anyone Used It Before? I'm Making A Nandroid With It Now, And Will
Be Restoring It Afterwards To See If It Works. Also, You Can Auto Upload
Your Backup To The Cloud (Dropbox).

The Menu Has Our Phone Listed (Lg Electronics, Motion)

EDIT : Made Nandroid Backup Through The App. Booted Into Recovery, And Wiped My
Davlik, Data, Cache, And System. Just To Make Sure The Backup Worked Fully. I Had The
Backup Save To My Clockworkmod Folder, And The Date And Time Were Correctly Input.
After Rebooting To System, My Phone Powered On Perfectly. Seems Like The App Works Great :).

You Can Set Up Automatic Nandroid Backups. Everything From The Second You Start The
Backup Is Backed Up. The Phone Call I Made AFTER The Backup Started, Was Not In The Call
Log. The Backup Took 5 Minutes 35 Seconds. So Realistically, You Wouldn't Lose Much Of
Anything At All

Oh yeah. When you set the backup location, only select the sd card, or external sd. No subfolders, it already makes the clockworkmod / backup folder

I was able to restore a backup using 2ndinit restore from a back-up made using this app. I just configured the back-up type to "Full Cwm" and it worked like a charm. It may come in handy. Thanks for the Heads Up.

No problem on the heads up. I enjoy testing roms, messing with stuff, and learning. But I forget to back everything up sometimes. So I set mine for daily nandroids and to keep 2 backups :)

What do I put for "brand" and " backup type".?

i believe that is referring to the scripts the orange backup installs. because mine says the same thing. but don't quote me on that

Ha alright thanks bro bro. Hey did anybody else get a backup around a 1gb our higher? I'm used to them being around 600-800 mb

my backup is 2.3gb but really it doesn't seem like i have that much stuff installed. i once had some thumbnail files in pictures that was over 300mb and took me a minute to figure that out because i didnt have any pictures anymore, i had deleted them but it kept saying i had 300mb in pictures folder. so theres probably other instance on my phone of stuff thats not needed but taking up space

Only thing that sucks about this is that you can't name the backups :/
I'm gonna continue using Nandroid online backup.

If you click on restore the app ask if you want to install another app and that's called Nandroid manager and you can restore back ups without going into recovery, my question is will it work on our phones or will i find myself bricked

Yeah you can, it's under setting->Backup Configuration->Advanced.
You may need to check the little box next to advanced option to activate those settings.

I have a couple of questions with this program, if anyone can help:

1. I tried two times to upload the zipped backup to cloud, and it takes literally hours............ five or six at the least. This can't be right.

2. Is there a method to free up backup data after a backup is overwritten, or does the program do that automatically? I now CMD backups create huge blob data files, and I usually free up data manually each time I delete a backup. It can eat up tons of storage space. Does this program take care of that problem?

Any help appreciated. Thanks,

1. Use WiFi, the backup is huge. Around 900MBs. Probably over a Gig if you got a lot of apps.

2. Yes it does I believe. Just delete the old backup with the program. It will delete the folder that the backup img's were backed up to.
