Help Orange Gmail push

I have to refresh to receive my googlemails on my 2.1 Orange branded Hero.

Is this the network providers fault or is there something I can do in settings to get push to work again.

Definitely not a network issue, as I'm with Orange and Gmail pushes fine.

I have the full "googlemail" address registered but have no idea what has gone wrong as I don't recall altering any settings.

I tried to register just the "gmail" address but got this:

There is nothing wrong with my Wi-Fi connection.

Roll on Nov as this old Hero is starting to force close a lot on me too.

Are you able to log-in to Gmail via your PC (https://mail.google.com) using the @googlemail.com address?

Sure can.

There was an issue with this recently was there not?

"Google Mail is becoming Gmail in the UK. Want to switch to douglasclark68@gmail.com"

I have always used "gmail" though and it comes through fine.

Maybe Google's confused by you using one domain and signing in with another?

I don't know what your address currently is, or what you tried to sign in with, but you'd be best making sure your gmail account is set to use @googlemail (check on via the web interface) and signing in with @googlemail.

That switch to @gmail for UK customers has screwed up a lot of people's phones. (I'm not sure why they bothered with the switch, I've handed out my @googlemail address to people as @gmail and have always recicved everything just fine, as far as I'm aware).

I did switch and got the screw ups. Reverted back and googlemail push worked fine.

God knows what's happened to it now.

Can't think of any other apps. that would interfere.

(And like you I always give my address as gmail but have had it since they came out really)
