Orange UK = crap

Mr Lahey

Newbie
We all know about the problems Orange users had getting Froyo, then the problems with all the bloatware.

So as part of my tariff I get push email, I could not manage to set it up and so phoned Orange technical support. Get this, the Desire DOES NOT support push email on Orange.
The guy who was helping me out was as stunned as I was that Orange chose not to support such a popular and top end phone.

Thanks Orange.

i think he might have worded himself badly
its likely that for a consumer orange does not support the setup or integration of exchange push mail as thats between yourself and your it team
its a consumer product and as such only the consumer fuctionality is generally supported.
as long as the APN's are correct and you have been provisioned correctly on their system the push support will be via your company or yourself if you are the IT person for your company.

you think orange could possibly support the group policies and certificates that can prevent your device from connecting to your exchange that is set up within active directory?

orange are utter crap however i think what he should have said is that they cannot support it as they do not and cannot get into the exchange side of things to verify if everything is setup

Have your Gmail account plunder your other email accounts for mail, this must be done on the server. I have push hotmail and yahoo pushed by Google, (you have bought a Google phone after all), Orange pop3 should be none different.

i installed the andriod email.apk and use it over the htc one. i get push hotmail and push microsoft exchange. that app might help you.

i am also on orange uk.
