Root Orange UK RUU

Does anyone know where I can get a RUU from Orange UK on the Desire HD? I need to Unroot for warrenty purposes but I cannot find the RRU. Am I best to use and Unbranded RUU or "loose" my phone?

Hopefully somebody will be able to help with either a link or the RUU itself. My usual first-stop is shipped-roms.com but it has no UK branded RUUs for the DHD.

Btw, I'm assuming that the suggestion of "defrauding" the network was in jest.

Phil - I've just been having a quick look and come across the following

How old is the phone? If it's over 6 months, Orange won't touch it, in which case you send it to HTC and they don't need or care about the Stock Orange RUU, just a stock HTC RUU.

Let me know if this helps... I will still have a look to see if I can find an Orange branded RUU when I get in!

If your phone is older than 6 months, then it appears that it would just be going back to HTC (rather than being used/dealt with by Orange), so you should be ok to just use the WWE RUU.

Out of interest, if you used the AAHK to root your phone, then you can unroot using that too... it does it all for you: http://androidforums.com/desire-hd-all-things-root/501540-desire-hd-un-root-guide.html#post3955215

(not sure about if you didn't use the hack kit, but it could work)

Thanks alot mate. i will give it a go over the weekend.

My phone is over a year old so that should be fine. I didn't use the aahk either so I will just give it a go by using HTC sync as I've read on here somewhere

I returned mine to HTC uprooted but with the stock HTC RUU. It came back with working GPS and proximity sensor and an Orange ROM

So I finally took the plunge and rooted it. I've never looked back.

NB. Take EVERYTHING off the phone. Sim, battery, sdcard, BATTERY AND SIM COVERS. It comes back naked. I forgot to remove the covers so had to wait whilst they posted new ones. I lost the Orange logo though, which was appropriate since it is now unlocked and unbranded (and running ICS).
