Root OTA installed can get root

Looks like I am all jacked up. My friend accepted the OTA while using my phone now I lost free WIFI hotspot. Here is the information on my phone. I have looked everywhere to try and get it back but my information doesn't match up with the toutorials and I don't want to brick my phone. Every app i try that is made for rooted phones says my phone is not rooted. Can anyone tell me how to roll back or re-root my phone so I can get the hotspot feature back??

I would have no problem resetting and putting my phone all back to stock and starting all over but I have no idea on how to do that.

ok so power off (you might need to disable fastboot, setting>apps>uncheck fastboot) then press and hold power+vol down. this will get you to the bootloader. in the menu there should be an recovery option. select that and let us know what happens.
 
It does have recovery. When selected it goes into a black screen then it ends with a triangle with a red exclaimation point.

ok so you have a stock recovery what i would do then is to go to the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html and go to the switching recoveries section and get amon ra 2.3 recovery onto your phone and then flash a rom and you will be good to go. i would try and flash mikg3.0 once you get amon ra2.3. also follow the guide on how to flash a rom as well.
 
yep mikg3.0 is the best rom out there. check out the root info stick and look for the rom/kernel download link. mikg3.0 is found in the gingerbread 2.3.3 sense 2.1 section.
