Ota is available !!

I got it to work, turn on airplane mode turn on wifi, system update, that is strange

I cant keep the phone's homescreen on long enough to do anything - and when I try to hit menu or anything.. it goes black (except the blue bar on top)

How can I fix this?

Ok everyone! I think I found the fix! I had just enough time to remove the app 'BobClockD3' from my homescreen and then rebooted. I believe this app is not quite ready for the Gingerbread release, so it was causing the issue. I believe I've fixed it!
I'll keep posting updates to see if anything else is wrong.

Didnt fix it.. I'm going to create my own thread so I do not hijack this one.
Thanks.

.596?
Can someone confirm the brightness of the back light on the hard keys in low light. This is my only gripe as I use the phone a lot in low light.

Otherwise loving it ;)

I have been using the adjust brightness app to turn them completely off. This can be done in that apps settings.

Could you provide a link to the app you're talking about? Searching the Market on "adjust brightness" yields several hundred apps. The over brightness of the buttons isn't a showstopper but it's annoying.

this was one of the first things we noticed with the leaks in March. They are just brighter. Trust me you get used to them.

Checked mine and it goes into indefinite loop of "Checking available...."

Mine is 100% stock only with Z4Root. Do I need to UNROOT to get OTA?

A week ago I unrooted and returned my droid x back to stock via .sbf so I can have the update over the air but its not working. I compared my droid x to a friends and my system version is 2.3.320.MB810.Verizon.en.US compared to his which is 2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.U. Is mine the offical OS by verizon?

Nope... this will help you.

SBF’ing the Droid X U D G

get the file Android 2.2.1 System Version 2.3.340 Full (VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01)

...if your on .588 your only one flash from having pre rooted .596.....you know that right?

No I didn't. But that's good to know. Ima mess around with it when I get home. The other DROID x on my account got the OTA which is a different version than mine and I'm hoping flashing back and doing the OTA will help with my sync issues corporate wise.

Not going to get used to them, try watching a video in low light (or the dark).

+1, trying to pay attention to see when they actually come on and what's kinda strange to me is even though i'm in a dark room they don't always, not sure why that might be. Always worked just fine on froyo.

When they do come on, wow, luminescent!
