OTA update beginning 7/16

Received yesterday, didn't notice anything different but have not had any problems either. It did reset my Launcherpro home back to sense but that seems to be about it. (location NE Ohio)

Last night I should say, before going to bed, linked to wifi, did a checkin and viola it showed up. It was after midnight so technically it was this morning.

Is your phone newer or older than hers?
I bet they go based off serial numbers, not location or anything like that. I still didn't get mine, but that's probably because they didn't get to my serial number yet.

mine is only about 2 weeks older than hers

My wife has been fighting with the Silent Bug for a bit now, and we are going to be getting replacement phone in the mail tomorrow.

When i found that she was having the issue, I asked her to take off the case and start using it naked, just to see if it made any different.. well... no silent calls in 3 days.

Is there anyone else that can say that they have had the Silent Call issue even with no case on? Or is this just a coincidence?

I got the OTA update about an hour ago. I haven't gotten the silent call bug yet (of course it's only been an hour, and I haven't made any calls since the update...).

This is my 2nd Eris. The first had the silent call issue and a problem with not waking up sometimes (I would have to remove and replace the battery). My current one has (hopefully HAD) the silent call issue and a couple of stuck pixels. I'm kind of upset I didn't exchange this one for another due to the silent call issue before Verizon stopped exchanging them for that reason (I really HATE stuck pixels). Anyone have a good excuse for exchanging it for another now? :D

got my OTA at about 6am this morning, southwest kansas. Did do a backup just in case, but didn't need it. Total update time was less than 10 minutes. Haven't noticed much differences yet though, but havent' been on it much since ota either.

Got mine this morning at about 6:30 central time in Kansas City. Haven't played with it much but the phone doesn't seem as laggy as it has since I got 2.1. The dialer seems a lot faster and just moving from screen to screen seems faster. I'm happy so far. I haven't called anyone yet though.

Got my update this morning as well. Phone feels quicker, but I think it might be due to needing a reboot anyway. I had over 1300 hours of uptime so it probably needed it.

My update just came a few minutes ago. It didn't come with the icon on top of the screen, just a pop-up box that gave me the option to install it now, install it later or get more info.

I just installed it (the download was really quick) and my phone is rebooting.

EDIT: I'm in Birmingham, Alabama and I did not have WiFi enabled.

Getting frustrated, got my eris brand new a month ago, firmware 1.5 Still haven't recieved an up date yet, Have been in touch with Verizon & HTC about about two weeks ago and verizon told me to wait a couple of weeks & last week HTC told me to wait a week....I want my 2.1 LOL!

cherish your 1.5!! what you're asking for is an inoperable phone for the most part. you must have not read the horror stories of the silent bug. hopefully though you get the completed update of 2.1 when your phone prompts you rather than the rubbish that most of have dealt with for months now.

Try to force it. Dial *#*#CHECKIN#*#* (do not press send) and see if it finds it.

That's odd that you didn't get 2.1 the day your Eris arrived. Mine forced me to update in December when I bought it.

In San Francisco - got the OTA update last night. My wife has not received hers. I'm on my 3rd Eris (replacements were refurbs), all swapped due to the silent call issue. My wife has never had the silent call issue, but she rarely uses her phone.

Since the update, I have noticed that my phone seems faster, especially going between screens.

I hope it's related to the update, but my current replacement phone was shutting itself off constantly on Saturday night. Did anyone else have that problem?

When I do that, I get the checkin result symbol in the top left corner. I drag it open and it says "CHeckin result success" I click on it and it goes away. I then check system updates again and it says I am up to date...but still firmware 1.5
