OTA update jan 8.

Recieved update notification this morning - North Kingstown, RI. I haven't installed it yet....afraid? Slightly.

Oddly, I never had the lock screen issue until yesterday - good timing?

I am losing hope on the 2.0 - I read somewhere that the processor in Eris is too small (?).

probably some Droid-lover posted that the Eris processor was too small. not so. we should hopefully actually be getting 2.1 when we get it. when it happens is the only question.

Sorry for the double post, but YouTube is still not working.

yeah, i don't think this update was meant to do anything about youtube. hopefully the next one will fix it. not that i ever use youtube. but a lot of people do. and it's one of the features advertised on the phone. i am a bit surprised they didn't deal with it in this update.

I guess I am fortunate, I don't need the update mine has never froze. Knock on word...

I have only had one instance of the phone freezing up. I got the update this morning but have not d/l it yet. Kind of reluctant to as it doesnt fix the Youtube issue and fixes something I have not had a problem with...

woke up this morning and i was surprised to find that there was an update. seems like this update is useless to me since i never even knew of this bug. but i'm still glad i got it, and it can only mean good things for 2.1 coming out on time!

still no youtube though...

Got the update. I my phone had the bug. Hit me on sat night twice, had to take battery out inorder for it to work. Any how my phone seems to be working more smoothly.

I had lockups - got the update last night - cant say for sure (too soon) but the device seems to be running with less hiccups and comes out of sleep snappier - fingers crossed that they got the bug!

2:00 am and doing my update as I type... Richmond, VA.

EDIT: After update, I am running 1.17.605.1. Google Voice force closed at launch, all of my apps are there, and settings seem to be in tact.

I just got the update this morning. My google voice also force closed at launch.

Everything else seems to be working fine, phone feels a little snappier. YouTube application seems to be working. Videos it would tell me "can not play" (which was all of them) after the last update are now working. I've just randomly been selecting some and so far so good. Not one has failed to play.

Did the OTA and now my phone is f-ed up. I have no service and everything is force-closing. I tried a battery pull but that did not help. I guess I will try a hard reset and if that doesnt work then I will have to go to the Verizon store. Not happy as I wasnt having any problems before this :(

I live in Hunterdon County, New Jersey and i got notification on my phone of the update this morning at around 6:30am EST....cant update it yet though...in school :(

I woke up to the update as well in Northeastern Ohio.. Installed fine.. But Don't really notice much of a difference?

I'll say it seems a little more stable since the update -- less lag switching between programs and better button response. I am very sure that upon exiting the dialer it feels a lot more agile. That was the biggest annoyance for me when I would end a call and the phone felt like it was trudging through mud for the next minute.

Got the update early this morning around 2am. I only had one instance of a battery pull with the lock screen. Also, Google voice force closed on start-up along with some of you but is working fine. The only app that force closes each time I open it is Gmail. My HTC mail works fine though so it's not a problem. Anyone else notice a slight performance boost?

Don't dare believe what you read. The Android 2.1 is already running on the CDMA Hero with a custom ROM. So the 2.0, 2.1 won't be a processor issue.
