OTA Update

Hi all,

I've had the DHD for a while now, and I have changed a lot on it, i've installed home launchers (ADW launcher) - which is fully customizable, upto the point of the applications list, after this I can't change it to other versions of Android (2.3) and i don't want to root my phone, as i don't really see the point.

A few sources have told me that an OTA update is now available for the DHD in Europe, but after trying to search for an update, it came back with nothing. Does anyone know how to update a different way?

I really want Gingerbread.

Unless you're a lucky vodafone branded user I wouldn't hold your breath for the gingerbread update pal!

Oh right, that's a bit stupid, even though HTC said the Desire HD would be getting an update, but a limited update only to Vodafone is ridiculous!

i've just tried downloading it, but it constantly stops downloading, i do have a very strong Wifi signal, is there anywhere else i can get it from?

No i'm trying to download straight onto my DHD...

You need to run it on your computer.

To do it.

1)Download File
2)Connect Phone to computer using USB.
3)Open .exe file
4)Follow the instructions
5)Make a cup of coffee whilst it updates
6)Enjoy your Gingerbread.

Nope, mount it as storage.

Backup your files! they will be lost doing it this way.

i've tried doing what you've said, but when i link up my phone, it says that the phone is not connected, there's nothing wrong with my laptop, my phone, or the USB cable...

Make sure its set as Disk Drive. if not try a diffrent USB Cable

Is your phone rooted? I'm guessing it may need to be.

No it's not rooted, when you say a few more days, do you mean months?

It worked for me First time! you sure you've got it set as a drive?
