Help OTG Issues

I have been meaning to pick up an OTG adapter since I got the DNA. However, I just picked up an Acer Iconia W510, and what do you know, it came with one. I decided to try it out and connected a flash drive. Worked like a charm, until I removed it that is. About a half dozen apps needed to then be uninstalled and reinstalled (they would not open and the app icon turned into the default android guy). I chalked it up to not unmounting the drive before disconnecting it. However, in answering the digital camera OTG question in another thread, I grabbed my SD card reader, connected it, and the same thing happened with the very same apps (and this time I did unmount the card prior to disconnecting).

Has anyone else seen this? It basically makes OTG unusable for me. Not that it's a huge deal, but I don't like when things that should work don't.

Does your phone automatically move apps to the sdcard? It could do the same thing with a flash drive or card reader. If the apps are still missing, plug the flash drive/card reader and reboot the phone. If the apps are there after the reboot then your phone is most likly moving your apps to external memory.
