Don't think any of you guys would recognize my two posts on PreCentral plus it's under a different account. Glad to see you all here though.
 
I really think Palm should've contracted with Motorola or HTC for their hardware. If you've felt the slider on the droid...I mean that thing is SOLID compared to the pre. I know it's mostly metal vs plastic, but I wouldve preferred something that solid instead of trying to save on weight. Also if you haven't seen those "making of the Nexus One" videos - there's one where they showed all the physical tests the N1 goes through. I don't think the Pre went through any of those type of tests
 
It is a shame because I think webOS is one of the best operating systems out there, I'm not going to lie. I've played around with a Pre numerous times and just found the hardware completely lacking compared to the amazing software it had (not too mention I hated the keyboard). Palm should have stuffed the Pre's guts into a slightly larger Pixi. If they had HTC or Motorola as their supplier...I may not be here to be totally honest. I really like webOS that much even with its minor bugs.
 
I was on PC too. I didn't post much though. I got frustrated and bored with my Sprint Pre so I switched to a Hero and I love it so far. I just couldn't take the bad hardware and buggy OS anymore.

It really is. webOS is the best mobile OS I have ever seen. It is just a shame it was rushed and was put on lousy hardware. If you apply an overclocked kernel, the thing runs at least 80% better. It just shows what would have happened if Palm put a Snapdragon in the Pre and Pixi. It is a shame that little things brought the company down. I don't think they will be able to recover, even with the C40. I wouldn't mind an EVO 4G with webOS though! I will definitely miss Preware!

webOS is amazing, but the slider mechanism is what is causing me to jump ship. The quality control on the Pre is disgusting. I think a Pixi with a Pre screen would have been perfect.

I had the slider so much I am thinking of getting a used Pixi on eBay to tide me over until the EVO is released. I know that one day, my Pre will just snap in two.

Anyway, back to the EVO. Here's hoping the camera at 8MP is good enough to replace my 5MP HP Photosmart R287. I need autofocus and zoom, and I'll be able to drop my stand-alone cameras altogether.

Correct, lets not. Besides there is a Political, Religious section here if anyone cares to post about topics of such nature. I would prefer that the thread be kept true to its nature and not off-topic.

Speaking of the thread in general, i don't have the time to compile the data, but i am wondering, how many of you from there are here? it might reflect what the general population does also in terms of switching over to the EVO.

And by the way I had one of those perfect PRE's at one time....but I am just not as fickle about things like some people are. I loved HTC, but hated Winmo, which is why I got a PRE last year.

Now I love WebOs, but the EVO is just too enticing not to get....guess its karma or something.
 
i came from pc too, i was a first day adopter, went through 3 of them due to cracking etc. it all changed when i felt how sturdy a droid felt, and then i realized all the things i hated about my phone

waiting on the evo.
 
Precentral member here that has come over as I'm highly considering the EVO when it comes out.

Haha I haven't thought about that. I made my avatar really early on...pre-release if I'm not mistaken. I guess if I think of a good idea for one I will fire up the old Photoshop.
 
I think I am going to have to go to a sprint store and play around with a nexus one to see how I like android. I have never even tried the os. That is the thing that worries me most. Like I said before, the hardware is almost too good to pass up, but I have read such high and low reviews of android.
