Otterbox case for the HTC EVO 4G LTE.

I've been using the Defender for about a week now and I'm loving it. My only real complaint is that the rubber REALLY sticks to the insides of pockets making it difficult to take out sometimes and I've never been a holster guy.

For those worried about car mounting I can confirm that the ProClip adjustable holder with tilt swivel works PERFECTLY with this case. It works so nicely it's almost like the recessed parts of the holder were designed for this phone and case.

I love Seidio and they have good service too. There Active Case is like the commuter. I have had nothing but Seidio but when Sprint had the commuter before I got my Seidio I went ahead and got the commuter to hold me over since I got 20% off cause I got the car dock also. But I like the commuter and swap between it and my Seidio. So either company I think you can't go wrong.

I hafta agree. What a company and what a great product... I just wish they would make a holster line for the Commuter Series.

I've had my Nexus1 for 2 years now, and done pocket carry with the WorkBerry on my belt in a holster. But since I'll be getting the LTEvo next week, that becomes the bigger phone and I'll be moving that to the belt and the WorkBerry to the pocket.

Been contemplating switching to Seidio since they have a holster for their "slim" line of cases.

Got the Otterbox defender and I LOVE it!!! Just a question regarding that, on the back, right below the kickstand, should the case "dip" in the center?

Re the otterbox defender cover, i do not see any dip in the rubber at the back of the case under the kickstand.

Every single otterbox on the shelves I have seen has had this little spot directly under the kickstand that seems pulled out just a tad.. Must have been an issue when the molded the rubber.. Luckily mine is very slight... I ordered direct from otterbox but I doubt that makes a difference

Guess I got lucky. Maybe mine is from a different batch?

maybe the earliest ones dont have that issue Idk... I have the blue and I ordered it early back right when I got the phone on 5/26..... and mines good... But honestly I have been to 2 radioshacks and they all have a little bubble under the kickstand... I can speak for the black one though

Maybe it is a Blue thing?

I have the black, as well, just got it last week at a Sprint store in Colorado. The Radio Shack I tried first had nothing...

Guess I am lucky the fires hadn't burnt it up. :)

My wife got the blue defender yesterday. No bubble on the kickstand. Ordered it on Amazon from Dependable Resources.
Sweet case, sems much thinner than the defender for my ogEvo. Can't believe how light the LTE is, even with a case on it.

Bought the Otter Box Defender as soon as BB had them in stock......good case for my line of work, however, it's not the easiest belt clip to put the phone back into. I struggle with it several times a day.

Got my defender last week and it's a much nicer case then the defender for the e3d was. I was hitting buttons accidentally and almost dropping the phone too and the defender solved all of that and finally gave me a way to carry the phone too.

I ordered from amazon and used the savings to almost pay all of a 32gb class 10 sd card. :p

When I first bought my EVO 4G LTE, the only Otterbox cases available at the Sprint Store were the Defender (in black) and the Commuter (in pink). I found the Commuter in black on Amazon for $15 cheaper than the Otterbox website with free shipping so I bought it. I bought the Defender case to use in the interim and returned it when my Commuter arrived.

I really like the Commuter because it offers excellent protection without adding a lot of bulk to my new slim phone. The only complaint I have is the rubber flap for the headphone jack flips up towards you instead of away from you. I had the Commuter case for my original EVO 4G and liked the way it flipped open.

quick question - i have the proclip adjustable in my car and my defender case is coming this week but when i used the evolte naked in my proclip adjustable mount the camera button would start taking pictures of my dash.. so your saying with the defender and the proclip adjustable this does not happen??

thanks

Yeah I have that. The rubber just dips down a little bit at the plastic molding.
Works great though. I love the case. So much better than the one for the Evo 4G.
I did put a coupe of good scratches in the screen protector though.

Nope, I haven't had that problem at all since I put the case on. I was having the same problem as you, but with the case the proclip is gripping the case edges without squeezing against the camera button. I haven't had one dash pic since.

Which proclip mount & holder are you guys using? I have an old proclip vent mount and the holder I used to use for my old phone but this phone is so big.... it just isn't working very well for me. I'm wondering if there's a different mount or holder they make that I should try?

Ditch the built in screen protector and install one of your liking  you will be happy you did

awesome - thanks again for the response!

I saw the Otterboxes at the Sprint store where I brought my LTEvo an thought they looked as thick as a brick so I passed. But reading the reviews in here, if they ever make a white one I may have to give one a try. I had a HTC hardcase on my old EVO and dropped it numerous times....down stairs, on concrete, and it held up fine so I didn't think the extra bulk was necessary. I just received my two Seidio cases...a active and a surface and are impressed with how well they fit with the ph while providing minimum bulk, yet feeling quite sturdy. But that built-in screen protector with the Defender sounds like a great feature.

I've said it many times...(probably even in this thread) Otterbox is THE BEST company to ever have to deal with.

Definitely agree with you. I have gotten so many cases replaced with no problems. It seems like the new generation of defenders ( not sure about commuter) has a newly designed rubber. Its harder and doesn't stretch, or get shiny like the old rubber did. Which was VERY annoying. But with that there are problems too. I've had mine for months now and the tab which closes over the charging port began to rip. I emailed otterbox. Then sent them a photo with my name email and the date in it. And viola! I just received a replacement blue defender free of charge. You really cant go wrong with otterbox.
