Help outgoing email trouble

:( I have the HTC EVO 4g and I've had it for about a year and a half. I have my gmail and .mac accounts both on there. The .mac being my work email...

all of a sudden esterday it stopped sending email in my .mac account, I've used this account and phone for the last year and a half with no problem. It says unable to send email...
i am still receiving email.

i deleted the account and then added it back on and same thing.. it couldn't verify the outgoing server.

i tried taking the battery out and then restarting it and still the same thing.

completely frustrated i did a factory reset.

then added my .gmail and .mac accounts back on and same thing... it receives emails but i can not send emails.

please help me!!

try and update your prl and profile. settings>system update>update prl the update profile.

see if that works.
 
Thank you Douglas. Tried that and still the same problem. It's been weeks now and I'm about to give up. I've tried reconfigureing and deleting the adding the account. Maybe i just have to get an iPhone to use mac.com mail now. It's just so frustrating bc it worked for a year and one morning decided to stop working.
 
try a 3rd party app i use maildroid there is enhanced e mail and k9 mail there are more but this is just an idea for you
