Help Over-Heating

I just got my Samsung about 4 days ago. Two days ago my boyfriend and I were playing a trivia game on it. We only played for around 15 minutes when it started getting really hot. After about 20 minutes it was so hot we couldn't even touch it and the screen was getting darker and then brighter and it done this several times. I have no idea what made it do this. Even when I charge it, the back of the phone gets hot and let me tell you, I am not happy. My laptop over heats on me all the time. I even tried buying a fan to cool it down and it still does it. Does anyone else have this problem?

The screen issue is likely from the phone going in and out of the so called power saver mode, you can turn that off if you choose. And/or it might be the auto brightness feature if you have that enabled. Games which is the cpu and gpu can cause the screen itself to get rather warm. Try downloading an app from market like Temp Monitor and see what your temp is anything less than 109

i dont have the problem but I think it's a legit "problem". I've played games/surfed the web, etc on my SF for way longer than 15 mins and its never gotten too hot to touch or had screen issues. Take it back ASAP and show them.

For what it's worth, that was the problem with my last Droid 2. It would get so hot it was hard to hold. I was actually concerned it was having a serious electrical issue.

The phone froze and rebooted frequently, at least once a day. If I launched anything cpu intensive, such as Google navigation, I could get it to run for about 5 minutes before locking up and restarting. Occasionally the screen would go off and stay off for about 10 minutes.

I'm sure that what you're experiencing is not normal either, not necessarily to that degree, but similar.

As others have advised, your device is defective and should be returned to the point of purchase.

There is no way I would keep my Fascinate if it were to become anything other than pleasantly warm during prolonged use.
