So i had a reboot/freeze optimus i bought last june and I sent it in january and got a warranty phone with the reboot prob fixed running 2.2.2 I have kelsomod flashed. Is there a way to overclcok this phone?

nope, they havent made the kernel yet, all there is is that kernel for people to flash that have their reboot issues, u can still flash the 2.2.1 oc kernel and ur phone shouldnt reboot

nope not at all, just go to the sticky thread, download
in recovery
wipe /cache
wipe /dalvik-cache
flash kernel
reboot
when your battery is 100% go back into recovery and wipe battery stats

All right i think i will try!. What if my phone starts having the reboot issues again. I cant go back to those dark days. I did backup from recovery when i first rooted my phone, but i dont know how to activate this. sorry im only a week into this rooting flashing craze.

Ok so i crossed my fingers and did it. That was too easy. Next i dl'd antutu cpu master which i heard is the best free oc app. I open'd the app and it automatically has 729.6 as my max and 245.76 as my min. Are these the standards or did it check my phone to see what i would be stable at? do i have to hit the apply button?

oh i used reppards r.O.C.K-v0.3-AnyROM. I didnt know kelso had a kernel. Could you direct me to post? So how do I mess with this overclock, how do i know im oc'd safely...dont wanna ruin my phone. I see battery temp is fine, is there a cpu temp?

kelso's kernel is not overclocked.....
reppards is
kelso's is 2.2.2 kernel
reppards is 2.2.1 oc kernel

well the phone is a noticeably faster, the next setting up (748) keeps causing my phone to reboot, i was hoping for 800 but im happy. should i get something called a governer?

.......the kernel has the governers, you can't change them nor can you add any, they are built into the kernel, only the kernel builder can add/edit/delete them

as long as we're on governers, is ondemand the best? cuz Smartass and performance look good to. I just want to play games without the phone having to reboot. using reppards r.O.C.K kernal as well, kelsos 2.2.2 is all good but it rebooted too. I may go back to Bobz original CM7 kernal, as turning off the screen on animation has made the stupid delay come back.

Yeah i am using kelso mod and i cant push my phone past 729 without reboot. does the phone perform better on different roms? for example can the max cpu be more stable on one rom than another. i just want to be able to play my n64 emulator. its really choppy when play super mario world.

As far as I know the ROM would have nothing to do with helping the kernel when it comes to OC'ing.

I do know this much, updating to stock 2.2.2 and then installing custom roms works perfectly, idk why but it does
I haven't had anywhere near as many reboot issues after doing this
