Root overclocking help

so i have velocity 3 and turbo 4 and things are running good just not as good as what other people are clocking. i cant get past 600 mhz on setpcu. i can slide the bar past 600 to 787 but it says im still only running at 600. i cant figure out what the problem is and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you flash turnbo 4 with kernel or without kernel? And did you flash the one form the veloicty .3 thread?
 
with kernel and yeah i got it from the thread. before i got those two i hadn't previously done this. am i missing something i should have had before those?
