Root OverClocking My Ally

I want to overclock my ally but I do not have a custom Rom flashed at the moment, i know that on the Droid X you can flash custom kernels in recovery to make your phone "overclockable" so are there any custom kernels i can flash to be able to overclock my ally without flashing a custom rom. Is there a way to overclock with the stock rom and custom recovery?

There are currently no overclock kernels available outside of a custom rom that I am aware of. However there are a few good roms available, even a "project gretel" for CyanogenMod7(though it is incomplete). My suggestion would be to flash Velocity 1.1

I would recommend Velocity as it is the only one still being somewhat supported, though some newer versions of popular apps such as Google Maps, Pandora, as well as a few games force close when you attempt to run them on Velocity 1.1
