Pandora on the EVO

SO FRIGGEN ANNOYING! My padora skips all the time mid song, usually right when i get to grooven too. Such a buzz kill. It seems to skip less the longer i listen though. Not sure if this is an indication of the root cause but.... I love pandora but i got to say its really frustrating not being able to listen to a full song on short drives

mine started doing that too recently

just downloaded pandora today. Ill post how my experience is since I will use it 1+ hours a day.

My question is I plan on running pandora on high quality with the screen always on. I will keep the phone hooked up to my car charger. Will that setup drain the battery faster than the car can charge it?

Yea mine has been skipping mid way thru a track a lot lately, very annoying. I usually stream some Pandora when I'm getting ready for work.

Pandora is hit or miss for me, sometimes it will play flawlessly between S.A. & Austin, others it won't finish a song before skipping the whole trip. I have not been able to use high quality either, under any circumstances, with 3G. Using 4G would be useless since I am using it in my truck, 4G coverage is spotty at best.

I stream pandora on my moment while I'm working with it on wifi and it works great for me. I average 20 hours a week and have never had it cut me off. SQ is great and it only skips about 1 song a day on me. I'm still using 1.3 though. Maybe some of you with problems should try rolling back to an earlier version...

Pandora has been skipping for at least a couple of months for me as well. I have no problems on wi fi or if my 3g or 4g connection is very good. If the connection drops to 2 or 3 bars then the skipping crap begins. It is also very hit or miss, I can put the phone on my desk and it will skip 3 or 4 songs, then play 1 or 2, then start skipping again.

I've been thinking about getting some sort of signal booster so I can listen to Pandora at work. Any recommendations?? :(

Wow sorry to hear so many having Pandora issues. I stream Pandora approx. 4 hrs. a night (work night shift) while driving all over the city (Pittsburgh). It is extremely rare to drop signal or a song. And I plug in via cassette adapter at work and the aux port in my SUV and it sounds fantastic. My work vehicle has a Bose system and my SUV Boston Acoustics but Pandora on my Evo sounds better than Sirius radio (SUV) and XMP3 player work. I have discerning tastes in sound quality been playing music for over 30 years. Don't know if anyone is rooted but the Digital Sound Processor app has a built in equalizer that really enhances the sound. Must be rooted but if you are check it out on XDA. And believe me, if there was a limit I'd have busted it by now with the hours I listen to music. As to the question of the car charger keeping up, I use it mounted with GPS always on as well as Google Nav. along with streaming Pandora and my phone is always on full charge. The only issue I ever had with Pandora was the wait period until a root exploit after 2.1 to 2.2 then the sound quality sucked. After, it was easy to fix the stage fright sound quality issue that caused all the problems after root.

I have great sound through an aux cable in my car. I used pandora for about 2 hours yesterday. It was flawless except it skipped like 3 songs in 30 seconds about 45 minutes in. I must have went through a low signal area as I was driving with it and covered like 50+ miles on my trip.

Pandora on my Evo is a little iffy. It freezes, force closes and skips songs on its own at times.

I have been having issues of songs skipping as well. My connection isn't slow or anything (has done it on wifi too), so I am not sure what the deal is. Anything that can be done about this?

Also, is this specific to the evo? All android phones?

I would have to say it is not EVO specific. I haven't had any problems using Pandora on my way to work every day...that's a 1hr drive.

I have skipping issues as well. It's not weak connection because I had strong wifi signal.

The skipping Pandora thing isn't a problem it's a feature. I personally hate the feature. I was beginning to wonder if it was because of the Fresh ROM or some other hack on my phone but sounds like its across the board.

Just adding another voice, I too am experiencing skipping, usually I can get 3-10 songs to play all the way through, then all of a sudden songs play 20-40 secs into a song and then skips to the next, I usually reboot the phone but I dont think it helps. I have un-installed and re-installed but to no avail, this is all on 3G, Wifi seems OK...

Can you elaborate? You say it is a feature, but what is the point of it?

Explain to me how not being able to finish a song before it switches to the next, sometimes only a few seconds into the song, is a "feature"? Definitely sounds like a problem to me!

Anyone else getting ads? I know there are ads at the bottom but like every 10 or so songs I get an audio ad that plays in between songs.

Used Pandora for about a 1.5 hour drive today on my EVO. I did get several on-screen add's, and had one audio add. Had one song skip.. not sure if it was me or a flaw. No problems though... Pandora worked great.

I think he meant the whole "you get 6 skips an hour" thing. That's the only way I can think if to justify his statement, lol.

I don't remember which, either Windows or Apple, but there was a problem with the OS and the manufacturer said it was a feature, not a problem. Seems that companies anymore just hide behind the problems and simply state, "Working as designed."
