Help Panoramic Photos?

Just wondering if there is a way to take panoramic pics with the EVO, or will this have to be done via post processing.

It's not a feature built into the Evo, but Photostich is in the marketplace. Not sure how well it works though.

reviews are horrible on it, so i tried it :) it's not GREAT but there is a neatness, and it does work. pic quality leaves something to be desired.

Yeah that built-in feature on the X makes me envious.

Also, you're my newest friend thanks to your avatar ;D

I'm guessing that (hopefully) it's only a matter of time before we get something like that on the Evo. It's just a neat feature to have.

I was at the basketball hall of fame last week and wished I could've taken a panoramic photo inside the dome.

I saw the photostitch app but as you said the reviews weren't great at all.

What settings do you guys have your cameras set to?

I've tried several different camera apps (including Vignette) and keep going back to the default EVO camera. I have flash set to auto, ISO set to 200, and Resolution set to 8MP, White Balance set to Auto.

You must only shoot in super bright lighting conditions cuz with your ISO set that low, any low light shots are probably gonna look terrible...

Vignette is an awesome app for just taking pictures with the Evo period. They come out sooo much better even with normal photos. It has a panorama mode in it, if that's good enough.
Wow, thanks for that recommendation. I just shot a picture using Vignette and one using the regular camera and I can defenitely tell the difference. I will try and post a comparison pic later today for people to see.......

My white balance changes depending on the conditions. I never leave it at auto. My ISO settings range from 100 - 400 depending on what the lighting is like. You can also try bumping up the saturation and brightness one notch.

yeah - I noticed the pics with Vignette have a larger file size than the stock camera - some times 4mb vs. 1mb. I wish we could change the compression on the stock camera.

Please post them, I am thinking about getting this app.

So, is that in only the paid version? i'm not adverse to buying it, but i downloaded the lite version a month ago and just fired it up. i don't see that option..

Here is a quick one.......Top is the regular camera at 8mp and the bottom is Vingette at 5mp. If I did the Vingette at 8mp the file would have been to big to email as I have it set to save on highest .jpg quality....

No flash, night time shot.......

@eric3316 can you do a panoramic shot? thanks
Here is a panoramic shot.....Don't think it has the same feel as the panoramic shots of the Droid X though.....

Here is a shot with the standard camera on 8mp:

Check out the latest version of
"Photaf 3D panorama". I'm the developer, and it has been greatly improved lately.

Also check out my site with uploaded panoramas from users of my app:
Photaf 3D Panorama

I'm also planning to release a new version with new features in about 6 days from now, so it will going to be even better.

I have Photaf installed on my EVo and it works pretty good. Ive only used it a couple of times but it will let you take full 360 degree photos if you want to. Try it out.
