Root Pay to have someone root my Inspire?

Hey all, been wanting to root my Inspire for awhile and just getting around to it. I consider myself fairly competent with computers but to be honest I just don't have the time right now to try and root the phone myself (busy with work/family/etc). I have read over the process and am sure that in my college days I would have been happy to try and do it and it would probably be fine but would much rather just pay someone to do it for time's sake.

That being said I found a company online that will do it for $99 and yes, I am aware that this is probably highway robbery for what it entails but like I said earlier it's money well spent at this point in my life.

My question is - has anyone heard of or used the company before (link below)? Or is there another company out there that will do this that anyone can recommend? Thanks in advance for any help on this :)

if they happen to turn your phone into a paper weight do they replace it?

i tried to check out their warranty/returns policy but when i click them it just takes me back to the top of the page.

I agree with 2manyPHONES, as to this company. I'd be leery of sending my new phone to another state to have a service performed on it. Have you tried asking your cell phone savvy friends if *they* know anyone who has successfully rooted their android cell phone? I say android, rather than Atrix, because there is a degree of similarity in the rooting process of all android phones. I think it is easier to root an Atrix (a very new android phone), if you've successfully rooted, say, a Droid X or an Inspire. You have a better feel for what it is you're trying to achieve, even if you're NOT that familiar with the Atrix. If they provide the name of such a friend, I'd approach them about rooting your Atrix.

If you want to go the route of having someone else root your phone you may want to check craigslist for your area. I always see ads in their for local people willing to root Android phones so that may be another option for you.

Thanks for all the feedback on this... I have read through some of the stuff about rooting and going to take the plunge and try it myself. Hopefully it will all go well and will post my progress once I have had a chance to do it.

Good luck and if you need any help or have problems, feel free to post here and then PM me to look at it. This way, I get email notification about needing help and the info is posted here in case others have issues as well. :)

I did it and used the guide given at the top of this forum! Took me all of 30 minutes and it was much easier (and less scary) than I thought it was going to be :) The only thing I messed up on was not getting a ROM on to my SD card and thus my phone 'froze' on the HTC screen. Thanks to the forum I was able to mount my card and get the ROM on there and everything works perfectly - thanks again for all the support and glad I didn't send it off...

There certainly is a sense of accomplishment when you succeed in rooting your phone. I've rooted five of them now, but each time I finish, I'm thrilled that I actually did it.

I'm glad you had an easy installation, because my installation of the Inspire 4G turned out to be a real BEAR. It was probably "user error" on my part - I'm NOT a tech expert - that turned my installation into a one hour, white knuckle affair.

Congratulations!!:):)
