Help PC cannot see dinc

No matter what i do, my computer (win 7 64 bit) wont detect my dinc. When I plug it into the usb port, nothing even pops up on the phone. My phone recently has been acting weird (unrooted)....I have about 1500 pictures, half on the sd card and half on the phone itself. Now recently the gallery only shows my sd card pictures. I know the data and media on the phone itself is still there even though it doesnt show up because i found everything using astro. I just want to connect my phone to my pc so I can back-up everything into one spot on my pc. Then I plan on wiping my phone clean and rooting for fun. I have tried htc sync already and it just says my phone is not connected even though it is. I've tried multiple usb cords also, and tested different usb devices so I know the usb ports are fine. I know someone can help me.

yes it is charging

Sounds like it could be a driver issue. Have you tried removing all the drivers related to the phone and reinstalling? Have you ever looked in device manager while the phone is plugged in and see any errors?

If you can i would try another computer too, preferably mac or Linux.
Last resort, you can always use a wireless copying program like dropbox.

yeah i have removed all of the drivers and reinstalled, also, I don't see any errors in device manager when plugged in, i will try another computer, and dropbox....im not sure if it will be able to see my photos and media that i want to backup on my phone, so far the only thing is astro that has been able to see them.

UPDATE: I tried another computer and no it doesnt detect the phone and the menu asking if you want to connect as a disk drive or charge, etc...doesnt come up on the phone either.

also, dropbox does not see my pictures that i want to backup,i just installed it

Sounds like a bad USB port then. Are you able to copy your files to the sd card with astro? Then you could at least use a card reader to backup everything.

The usb ports work fine, I've tested them with other devices. I might be able to copy the files through astro, though it's a last resort because it will take forever.

Meant the usb port on the phone(one of the pins may be misaligned). i think astro has a way to wirelessly transfer files.

This can be marked as solved, finished, ended, whatever....

I tried a third computer and magically it installed the drivers automatically and could detect the phone. I was able to save all my data from my sd card and internal phone storage. I then copied the data to the original computer I wanted to have it on. Now I just need a nexus then I can wipe my incredible and root.
