Root permanent S-OFF is here!

as you can see from the pic,the new permanent s-off bootloader will block the install of another bootloader. i packed up a stock bootloader, and the original engineering bootloader, and it wouldnt flash either :D

id very highly reccomend that everyone does this. if you need to flash back to stock for some reason,or acidentally flash a whole ruu file instead of a radio  this will preserve your s-off bootloader. pretty much no matter what you do, this will save your ass ;)

for those interested,go here and download: Patched (hard)hboot 1.04 for s-off/eng/fastboot - xda-developers

flash the PG05IMG inside the download folder in hboot like the radios.

im pretty excited... this is a good thunderbolt day

And once again I am too chicken to do a zero day flash. scotty gets to be my guinea pig, lol.

I really like the idea of this...no more worrying about accidentally accepting an OTA if I understand it correctly, which means you can run the rooted OTA ROM without worrying about losing root.

just worked for me again. if it wont cooperate,pm me an email addy if you want it emailed :)

brizey, theres nothin to be chicken about,lol... its just like flashing a radio, and in the long run its much safer than your typical engineering bootloader.

those who have had an incredible or evo with unrevoked's "forever" patch know the peace of mind it brings.

im assuming you could even flash a stock recovery, accept an ota and still be s-off,but dont quote me on that... idk for sure thats a true statement

Dumb question, but I volunteer to be the one that asks it:

You flash this in hboot, right? Rename to PG05img.zip, and all that?

Scotty, you said you flashed one of team win's new recoveries? Still running it, thoughts? We finally got our blue bro! Haha :D

yes sir! only its like a limey green, not blue :( but its still now orange :D

i just flashed it a bit ago... havent really dont anything other than look at the menus. so far i like it... its kinda inc Amonilike in that its got a nandroid menu, wipe menu, install zip menu. to me its more logical than the way clockwork is set up. on the thread they were sayin its really fast.

ill try and flahs somethin, make some backups, etc. in a couple days

Sweet, I don't remember a thing about RA so it'll be a blast from the past for sure.

AFA the blue color there's about 12 different color choices, including 2 blues "google" and "jesus freke" :D

advance menu>change twrp settings>change twrp color theme

Have to reboot back to recovery for the change to take place

Well I stopped being such a wimp and flashed it. My screen looks just like scotty's, except mine has a cooler radio.

dammit! back to recovery for a quick color change :D

Waitwhat exactly does this do? Srry, coming from d1 I have never had to deal w/ this before(we had a bootloader. that I used once)

Doh! Foiled by stock browser again. Dolphin downloaded it fine. :)

Also if it makes it impossible to return to s-on, wat happens if I have to return it to verizon

it doesnt make it impossible. you just have to use fastboot to install the s-on hboot, they will be providing instructions for that.

it blocks hboot flashes as thats where accidents happen. you dont normally accidentally fastboot flash an s-on hboot :p

I don't need to do anything special before flashing? I can just flash on top of whatever I'm running and I'm unlocked forever no matter what?
