Root Permanently bricked?

Sorry guys, I seem to have bricked my phone. I just rooted my Esteem, and installed CW through ROM Manager. I tried to reboot into recovery through RM and now the phone seems to be stuck at the "LG" screen. Can anybody help me? I had the Ascend before this and it seemed to be able to be brought back from the brink of bricked, please tell me this phone is like this.

k yes that's the right one, try doing it again hold both of the volume buttons then hold the power button once you see the lg comes but keep holding the volume buttons u should a have pop screen asking if u wanna factory reset select yes with volume button twice. then that should take you in to cwm.let us know if that works were here to get you up and running again.

Thank you. Pressing anything but the power button cancels, and takes me out of the menu and back to the LG screen. Doing a reset *surprise, surprise* takes me out to the LG screen.

Thanks for all your help man. I've done that 10+ times now though. I'm gonna have to go to metro and get a new one. I feel really bad though because I've had it for such a short while.

So what exactly could you do if your computer could see the phone but you couldn't get past the LG logo? Yeah, nothing.

Commander can see your phone when your computer cant, being that it sees it when its in boot.

no problem just tell them u was charging it and it just didn't turn back. pay $30 and get another one. if we can't get it back up and running they can't so they won't know if it was ever rooted ;)

Reinstall CM, and reset to default. And yes, I've tried with the SD card in and out. Nothing came up on commander, I clicked refresh like 20 times.

For the ascend I told them I was doing a software update and they just made me pay $10 for the shipping of a new one. Hope it'll work again.

yeah that's cool but under your battery does it says zvd if it does dont tell them that becuz the phone already have the lastest zvd if it doesn't then u can tell them u were doing the update

You can flash CWM without the phone booting up and just the computer seeing the phone? Interesting. :rolleyes:

Have you deleted the CWM folder that's installed on your SD when CWM is flashed? If it was installed on the external SD that is? This folder is needed for CWM to function. Perhaps removing it entirely if its corrupted can free up your phone.

The Ascend is a $49 dollar phone. The Esteem is a $379 dollar phone. That would be amazing if they just made you pay for shipping considering the deductible for the insurance is like $75. Im not sure how Metro would handle it. Where I live, the Metro employees are a step above a 5th grader so it's difficult to say the least to get anything out of them.

Unless your within the 7 day window for a return. At least that's the policy over here.

I paid only $10 for my replacement fuzzy

P.s. random thought if I ever had a team I would name it team fuzzy. Just because it sounds funny yet simple xD

Although I'm ashamed to say this; I just got the phone today. So can I return it and buy another one at a different store? Yea, the Ascend was a crap phone compared to this one. The metro employees over here seem to have came out of fifth grade. They can barely tell me if i live in a👎 3G area.

Hell yeah. Whats the 10 bucks for? What's the point in insurance if everyone can pay 10 bucks?

They have a return policy in place for people that decide they dont want the phone. Has to have an hour or less of talk time and has to be within 7 days.

In your case the damn thing dont work so they should get you a new one with no problems. I would just go first thing in the morning and get it sorted out. If they give you problems, pull the manager card. Good luck
