Root Pete's New ROM.

That's Batterytime Lite. You can also have a widget too. Mainly I wanted a % of battery left in the status bar since the Droid default icon is terribly inaccurate. I mean, why does it appear to be 75% full when it's actually 40%? Makes no sense.

I have BatteryTime pro and never realized you had the status bar option. It is weird - to configure it you need to first install their widget and set the options from there. Unfortunately, you have to have the widget running for the status message (I never was a fan of the look of that widget).

I put the widget on a screen I don't use too often (easier with so many now). I like having the battery in the status bar. Plus the temp is nice to know as well.

Well, I can't recommend the rom. Voice Search FCs anytime I open it. Rebooting didn't help. Guess I'm switching.

I've tried Ultimate 4, BB .5, and BB 1.2. What should I try now? Recommendations?

I've got 1.1 on two different droids with NO problems. (occasional FC from voice search...but that's actually a google beta right now, so not really rom related i think).

BB1.2 voice search is completely broken. ...though I never actually use it.
After trying a 2.1 ROM, I went back to 1.1

Which 2.1 ROM did you Try?

Well actually I don't even know if it was 2.1, it was Greek35T's Version 1 ROM
There wasn't really any info on it. I thought it was the Desire ROM they're working on and I could mess with it inbetween Nandroid restores. The launcher worked extremely well, non of the freezing and lag that I always get with Launcher2 on 2.0.1 no matter what ROM, so I assumed it was 2.1. I haven't tried Pete's or anyone else's because theyre still missing stuff like LED notifications.

Chevy's 2.1 rom has been working flawless for me since I installed it last night. Have not found anything that doesn't work on it (aside from the market patch it needed).

As far as Pete's go.. 1.1 and 1.2 both suffered from the voice search bug, however a fix was found that required pushing a fixed apk onto the phone. I think I am done with 2.0.1 though since these ERE25 2.1 builds are so stable.

I just flashed Bugless Beast v0.3 (ROM 2.1 ERE25)
It's the OTA we never got, and It is snappy as hell.
I don't think I even need to overclock it.

Best thing so far. The Browser does not have the anti-alising effect the Milestone has. It's as it should be, text and images never get choppy when you touch the screen.

Early impressions of Pete's ERE25 build are good. Seems to be just as stable as Chevy's. I do really like the fact that the launcher is not autorotate (I can't deal with the slight lag when I unlock and it is in landscape instead of portrait).

Benchmarks are about the same as I got on Simply Stunning (makes sense, since the only OC kernels for ERE25 are Chevy's). Now that I got everything all set up, time to add JIT :D

UPDATE: preliminary JIT testing is going alright, we'll see how stable it is in the long run...

Fab you still running JIT? I have been running it on SS for about a day now and havent had the usual issues. Seems like ere25 handles it better

Great. Right when I get SG 5 running nice, it looks like Pete has a winner.

Guess I'll wait till Monday before deciding to flash again. I just got everything set up. Thank God I know about Titanium now. Quick question: Does Titanium remember e-mail settings too?

Yeah, I ran it both on SS and now BB. The browser doesn't choke up like the Milestone browser did in non ERE25 based roms. I had some stability issues with JIT and SS though, so I ended up turning it off, but so far, it's been very stable on BB (knock on wood).

The times that I had the most troubles with JIT and SS were browsing pages with lots of images, listening to music for a prolonged period of time, and rapidly transitioning from screen to screen or app to app. I've tried to recreate the same situations in BB, but have yet to have a FC, restart, or shutdown.

What a difference ERE25 makes.
