Help phandroid.com scrolling lag caused by new Chrome versions

More of a FYI than a question. Recently started noticing scrolling lag on articles on phandroid.com. Also, noticed some keyboard lag input in address bar when initially opening Chrome and also lag upon exiting Chrome to home screen. Turns out it's introduced with new Chrome v54.0.2840.68 and v54.0.2840.85. Issues clear up when reverting to v53.0.2785.124 which can be found in the link below which is affiliated with Android Police. Please help report to Google so they can fix.

Pretty much any article. I it in the first four articles I tried. To replicate install Android Chrome v54.0.2840.85, go into any article, scroll down to the bottom then flick scroll up to the top fast. You'll see that it stutters consistently right around the article header/picture before it reaches the top of page. As mentioned, it appears to be a Chrome issue since it's fast and smooth with v53.0.2785.124.

I cannot recreate, neither can dev - with that version. :\ Can anyone else here?
