Root Phandroid reporting that GingerBreak is Malware

Any exploit that allows you to get root on your android phone is technically malware, and in theory could be used by another program to gain root on a unsuspecting individuals phone for whatever evil purpose, but rooting via the GingerBreak method in itself (like the one click app GingerBreak) doesn't mean your phone has malware on it. Any phone with root is more substitutable to malware however.

Thanks.

Wasn't trying scare anyone. Just found it odd that phandroid would report this.

What? No ...

Per the article, some malware going by the name of "GingerMaster" uses the same root exploit as Gingerbreak to do Bad Things (tm).

"Gingerbreak" (the software you install to gain root) and "Gingerbreak" (the exploit used by the software) are separate concepts.
