And not just from the tray, but from the phone completely. When you go through apps and try phone or dialer it says the programs has been uninstalled. Also, all of the contacts disappeared. This is on my wife's completely stock HTC Vivid. I keep telling her to back everything up and do a factory reset, but she's being stubborn. Anyone else have this issue? (With the phone, not the stubborn wife)

How about the Playstore? Does it allow you to dl apps still?
I wonder if calling tech support at your carrier would do any good? If they could do some magic over the air or advise you or maybe even help with the wife???

Apps could still be downloaded, texts could be sent but only from messaging from existing text threads, and calls could be received but not placed.
I finally convinced her to let me factory reset after backing up everything and all seems well. The only issue with recovery was using SMS Backup + which dated almost every text from the same day in September of 2012. Makes it difficult to find certain texts in the threads.
