Help Phone Call Volume

Whenever I get a phone call the volume in the earpiece is really loud. I have to turn the call volume all the way up and then back down just so it's quieter. Is there any way to fix this?

No, it's not on speakerphone. When I'm in a phone call the volume in the earpiece is loud enough that anyone around me could hear my conversation. It does that every time I get a call and I don't know how to keep it from happening.
 
I've read in this forum someone else complaining of the volume problem. It might be due to the update to Gingerbread. People are being told to revert back to Froyo, but this isn't fixing the problems.
 
There is an app on the market that fixes this problem. I'll try to find it for ya'll. Might be a little latter in the day when I've got more time to look in the newest version of the market which is nothing short of a big time consumer. Half a day trying to find one app because the capital letters were not just right, or just because they have there own system of order. jees!
