Root Phone frozen... NEED HELP!

Hope someone can help? Im running Mikg 3.0 and Anthrax v9. I decided to download a couple of freedom kernels from the Kernels download page. My problem is that I connected my phone to the computer thru USB and switched to disc drive. I moved the zip folders onto my SD card. The problem is as soon as I did that, my screen froze. All that shows is the notification bar and my screen background. Power button only blanks the screen. Pulled battery and rebooted 2x and still nothing. Wiped cache and Dalvik cache 2x and still nothing. Any suggestions?

Thanks. Yea I did a nandroid back up before installing zip files and did the same thing when I restored it. I had to use an older backup since none of the newer ones were working. Got it working. NANDROID... Glad I followed everyones advice. Saved my phone.

If something like this happened again, instead of restoring a nandroid, you could reflash the same rom while only wiping cache and dalvik cache. This way, you will revert back to the stock kernel if the stock kernel isn't available on the sdcard;)

Well my PROBLEM is back. Last night I turned phone off and switched batteries. Turned phone back on and screen went blank with only notification bar working. It shows correct time, signal and I even recieved a text message notification, but nothing else. I even got a phone call but no way of answering it. I have tried wiping (both manual and superwipe). Tried 3 different nand backups and even flashed MikG 3.0 3 times and still nothing. I'm out of ideas, anyone help out?

Flash the stock ROM and leave the stock kernel. If it is still happening with that... You know its not a ROM/kernel issue and it may be time to get your files for unrooting ready in case you have to take it in.

Could it also be a battery issue? Is it that certain battery that causes it?

Yea, only happens with stock battery. Havent had problems with extended battery.

Ok. Finally got MikG 3.0 running, but now I'm unable to sign in to my google acct. during the startup... This thing is driving me crazy....

Ok. I decided to Wipe everything but my SD card and Flashed MikG and Anthrax. I believe I was not doing a proper nand backups. I was forgetting to include SD-ext on my backups. Not sure if that was the problem, but I just decided to start from scratch and do everything RIGHT this time. Got it up and running... So far so good. Will post if it happens again, in case someone else had similar issues. Thanks for everyone's input.
