HTC Apache (Verizon xv6700) WinMo smartphone on VZW

That would be the Moto v60c, three antennas for me. But wasn't the aluminum body and indiglo screen cool back then? You could even make your own ringtones on it by punching in the musical notes! Revolutionary!!

- Nokia black candybar
- Moto StarTac 3000
- Lg flip
- Moto Slvr
- HTC Eris
- HTC Inc2

Next will likely be the Vigor/Rezound. Although the GNex does look good.

It seemed like every time I turned around I was breaking the antenna on that thing. There's probably a reason the replacements came in sets of 2 or 3!

The indiglo screen was all the hype back then LOL!

N-Gage
Tmo Dash
G1
Droid
Incredible
Droid 3

Nexus is out for me due to no sd slot. Razr has external sd slot, but same chipset as my Droid 3, but is LTE (custom chip, FWIW). The two issues that make me pause on the Rezound (besides the cheese level Beats marketing) is the sd slot STUCK behind the battery and appears to have the same LTE chip as the Thunderbolt.

My lame guess is the Rezound will be more powerful for game emulators, Flash and video, but be a battery hog, due mainly to the LTE chip. Bionic has better battery life than the TB, so not all wild guesses.

Is it possible that with the time they have had since the Tbolt that they may have been able to tweak the MDM9600 to get better battery life? I doubt HTC wants another Thunderbolt on their hands. Besides doing the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity isn't it? Guess we'll find out soon.

Hopefully... That event is the third right?

Yep, but a heavy (and IMO off tangent) push on Beats branding seems to be the big selling point in HTCs mind. Hope I am wrong, since seems a tad lame to me. This device will likely not appeal to the younger crowd they may be trying to target. The people that would spend the bucks may see Beats as a side note. Seems HTC should have invested money on a better LTE chip, rather than blowing money on Beats branding and paying "celebs" to help push the stuff. JMO.

I prefer better LTE and a Beats free device.

With ya Rush...this is looking like I finally found my new phone but that Beats crap is kinda turning me off!!

Holy crap!! Jay! Whats up player?

Honestly other than the beats logo on the back i'm gonna completely ignore the fact that this is a beats phone....

Whats up NA?
I peak in every once in a while!! ;)
I agree with you, but like Rush says, they seem to be emphasizing this Beats thing instead of the tech.
Gonna wait till this and the Samsung are both out before I decide, but this one is def in the lead. I always said that if I basically found an Incredible with a slightly bigger screen, improved specs and 4G that I would jump on it!

This may be the baby!!

Yeah, I made up my mind I wanted this phone even before the HTC-Beats deal a while back. Granted, we didn't know all the specs yet, so I could've been talked out of it if they were disappointing, but I like what I'm seeing. The whole Beats thing is petty much irrelevant to me.

Audiovox SMT5600 (Cingular)
Cingular 2125 (Cingular)
Motorola Q9m (VZW)
Motorola Q9c (VZW)
HTC Ozone (VZW)
HTC Touch Pro 2 (VZW)
HTC DROID Incredible (VZW) - Current

Won't be getting a Rezound until I can get an upgrade in Feb, 2012.

For me the Beats are a big deal. Its not the "beats" brand but the fact that I'm basically paying $200 for the phone instead of $300 for G Nex. (I was going to buy some klipshe or beats headphones anyway). It also matches my beats laptop perfectly (Im just a sucker for black and red really)

Only bad thing about this phone will be the battery. On that note does anyone know of any Non-OEM batteries that will fit the Rezound? Or is it to early to tell

Going back to 1998:
starting with just dumbphones -
Moto MicroTAC 650 (Alltel)
Nokia 5165 (US Cellular)

Around this time I discovered the PDA in conjunction with my phone, so both are listed here:
PDA: Psion Revo (branded as Diamond Mako)
Phone: Moto v60i (only broke 1 antenna) (Alltel)
PDA: Handspring Treo 90
PDA: Palm Tungsten C

Then, they finally came out with true smartphones, so I ditched the PDAs:
HTC Apache (branded as UTStarcom PPC-6700) (Alltel)
HTC Titan (branded as HTC PPC-6800) (Alltel)
HTC Touch Pro (Alltel)
HTC Incredible (Verizon after takeover of Alltel)

Next one will likely be the Vigor (Rezound is such a stupid name) although like most of the early Incredible adopters, my early renewal date is 12/28, so I'll have a little while to see how everyone else's opinion of it is. If it turns out to be another Thunderbolt, I'll wait and see what the next HTC is (there are a few issues I have with the Nexus Prime), since I'm still really happy with my Incredible.

We'll see: you early adopters of the Vigor will be my beta testers :-)

Check out first post of rumor thread, it has links to the accessories that are out already

My first phone:
Technophone+400.JPG

Then some junky flip phones.

Sony Ericson Z520 flip, I think this was the first phone that had some form of web but so archaic it's almost unbelievable.

iPhone 2g (4gb) stood in line on release
iPhone 3gs
iPhone 4
Samsung Captivate (cheap on ebay just to mess with)
iPhone 4s (returned, gotten tired of iOS)

Samsung GS2 Skyrocket (Just returned, live in LTE area but I'm just outside if it about 8 miles, plus the resolution on a 4.5" screen is to low, my capy looks better)

So on my iPhone 4 now, spoiled by the retina display, so finally a HTC phone (Like sense, hey it's new to me!) with a screen that actually has a slightly higher dpi.

That's my story.

And I thought I was bad with phones woo good luck man

My phones (that I can remember) have been the following-

Moto Razr
Moto Razr2
Blackberry Storm (horrible device)
Moto Droid
HTC Incredible (AMOLED)
HTC Evo 4G
HTC Rezound (Monday, when it comes out)

And I thought I was bad with phones woo good luck man

I loved my iPhones, but the OS is just stale, sure it works without hic-ups but how long are you suposed to stare at a screen of app, after app, after app. Then when they copied the notification center from android, I couldn't believe it, that turned me off as they copied it but it's no where as good.

Plus from my captivate I loved flashing roms and what not, something you just can't do on an iPhone.

yeah the age and pages of aps is what killed MIUI for me and being a crack-flasher is the best part of having an android phone

That pic of your first phone looks like it came out around the same time as my first one (around 1997), the Moto MicroTac 650e. They couldn't do anything but call, but they were also pretty much indestructible.

only if phones today were indestructible
