Help Phone lagging/screen freezing

bigeagle

Newbie
I've unrooted and reinstalled stock rom on my EVO. Now about 8 out of 10 times the screen is completely frozen when I power up. I can't swipe the unlock bar down. If I turn off and back on I can usually get the screen to work for a little while but then it freezes again. It seems more like the phone itself is lagging, not that the screen isn't responding. If I touch the home button the phone vibrates like it's receiving the input but doesn't respond.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

well since you are unrooted now there is only two options for you. you can do a soft reset by powering off then wait 10 sec and reboot or you can do a hard reset which is basically a factory reset. otherwise you can take in to get it looked at.

I've done a factory reset several times. Is there maybe a different kernal or something I should use? To unroot I just followed the instructions on the rooting for dummies thread.

you have to be rooted to use kernels. not sure if that is your issue, however. you might have to take it in. i was rooted and my phone would randomly reboot. it got so bad that i unrooted to see of that fixed it. nope it did not so just took it in. you might have to do that.

What did they do for you when you took it in? Was it a hardware problem or software? Did you unroot using the rooting for dummies guide as well?
