Help Phone locking up when asleep, requiring battery pull?

@JKH62, that's not normal. I've had android from the very beginning and I've never had to do anything special to keep one from locking up while charging. It's under warranty, send it back.

I am past my grace period and if this "fixes" the lock up its not a biggie. I am holding off rooting it for a while in the hopes of a firmware update. Casio is slow to update devices but they pushed one for the old command so they do support their hardware even if its at a snails pace.

I have a LOT of crap disabled thru the Verizon settings page and they flash a disclaimer that it may cause other apps to misbehave. I think the phone is an improvement over the old commando but the new camera was a step backwards ( it sucks).

If you are the original owner the warranty is for a year. It's hit or miss for these issues. Swap it out, maybe you'll get lucky next time. Third time was the charm for me.

I hear you (and agree) if this is the only weirdness with my phone & changing a menu setting "fixes" the problem I will keep it. Anything else and I will swap it.

Well at least wait until just before the end of your warranty & swap it out. That way you will have a CPO phone in the middle of your renewal cycle.

That's my plan.....

So far no more lock ups by changing the setting I mentioned above.
Knocking on wood / tapping head!

I was still dealing with lockups, probably every couple days. Last week, I updated to M040. the phone itself was much more stable, no lockups since, but apps I was running from the SD card would stop working and close (no "force close" message, they would just close).

So I moved all those apps back to the internal storage and everything has been working flawlessly since.

I don't know if it was running apps from the SD card that was causing lockups originally, or if the update fixed the lockups and revealed a different problems, but there you have it. Hope this helps someone else dealing with the issue.
