Help Phone PEOPLE and Google Contacts not sync'ing

Just noticed that my contacts are not sync'ing between my HTC EVO 4G (4.52.651.1) phone and my Google Contacts.

I went into Settings > Accounts & Sync and tried to force a sync. Last sync was two days ago and when I Sync Now everything else seems to sync but not the Contacts.

Any tips on how to reset this? I tried Manage Applications for HTC People and clearing the data. The data seemed to clear and then it was there again and yet "sync" has not occurred. Very odd.

Would welcome any ideas on this. Really need this feature to work. It's about 50% of why I have an Android.

Mine doesn't really sync either. My contacts have followed me through several phones, so now even though it may show one entry for somebody...if you try to edit the contact, it wants you to select "google" or "phone". And there's usually like 4-5 different "phone" contacts, all for the same person.

Have you tried shutting the phone off? Doing this will clear out the Cache and should allow you to sync again. You may need to get a Cache Cleaner if your not rooted. If you are rooted go and clean cache and dalvic cache
