Help Phone rings low, then normal

finally got a sim card for my phone today. was testing it out and noticed that the first ring is low, then after it plays the sound at whatever volume i have the phone set to. is this a feature that i don't see of the phone somewhere? if not, anyone else experiencing it?

I think its meant to give you a chance to answer or dismiss the call before it becomes intrusive. SGSI did the same thing.

thanks. i found a thread about that but it died before anyone figured it out i suppose. just wanted to double check
