Phone ruins the experience

I too am not satisfied with the Skyrocket. I'm not happy with the poor battery life. Maybe I was spoiled coming from the Atrix 1 and 2 but man, it just doesn't cut it. Even with JuiceDefender I wasn't satisfied. I'm also not impressed with Samsungs Touchwiz. The keyboard is a bit annoying.

All in all, its a good phone but definitely not the "top of the line" type of device I was thinking it would be.

I will never switch to an iPhone though. Way too simple of an experience for my taste. I'll be within the 30-day exchange period by the time the One X comes out, so I'm going with that bad boy. Hope I'm not disappointed as I've been really excited about that phone for the last month or two.

You might want to consider the mediocre battery life with no way to switch the battery out.

It does seem like there is a wide variation of battery life among Android users. That is probably due to the openness of the platform. It is something that kept me from switching over for a while but I have adjusted and am glad I did. Everyone must find what works best for them.

See I don't need to change a million things with my phone...that's why I prefer the iPhone

Thats the perfect phone for you then. I always tell people the iPhone 4S is a great phone and if you don't the open platform build of the Androids then definitely go with an iPhone. You will never be disappointed.

My wife always had a dumb phone and is not a tech person. When she finally decided to make the jump - iPhone all the way. Nothing for her to mess with and she is very happy.

I wouldn't have a iphone if you gave me one. They are 4-5 years behind their time and have not been aggressively going forward since Mr Jobs took ill. The people that buy them basically say they love them cause a 3 year old can operate one. They are worthless and unless there is some big changes in the 5 then it could be devastating. The screen is too small, the OS is boring. Peace

I can't argue with you that the Android updates are flawed. It should not take this long to get updates, which is why google needs to control the updates.

I had no problems with any of the two updates that AT&T pushed. Both download and installed without any problems.

I enjoy the Skyrocket. It is simply a fantastic phone and there is an incredible amount of flexibility. Of course, Android is its own OS. Those buying a Skyrocket thinking that they would duplicate their iOS experience with a bigger screen, would only end up frustrated. Each OS has its own peculiarities. One should expect some kind of a learning curve.

My advice to those coming to phone from the iOS. Do not root the phone until you know what you are doing. Do not do anything weird in terms of the OS. First, get comfortable with Android before going ahead to modify the oS.

this phone is ******ely hard to root....tried 4x when I had the white one with no success and then ended up returning to get the black one. Everything I have found with this phone is hard to do and just frustrating....and yes I'm very tech savvy and have no issues understanding things

Okay. This thread seems to have run it's course. Before it goes further downhill, let's call it done. PM me if you think there is any reason to reopen it.
