Help phone suddenly wont connect to network (verizon). HELP!

i was watching election returns and tracking things on twitter while trying to respond to a text message when suddenly my GNEX disconnected from the verizon network and now i cant get it to connect. i tried shutting it off, pulling the battery, etc, and it just wont connect. im going nuts here! anybody have any clue what's going on and if i can get this thing to reconnect? thanks so much as always.
 
It's now over an hour later, 1:15am my time, and still no connection. I don't know think it's a network issue at this point.
 
bump. can anyone help? i tried removing the sim card, rebooting, shutting off and turning back on data connectivity, and nothing is working. the phone will connect to wifi (which i only have access to at home at night) but otherwise its serving solely as a fancy clock at the moment. ugh. killing me. any help that you guys can provide is hugely appreciated! please and thanks.
 
Did you try turning airplane mode on and then off? That often works.
Also, have you tried switching to CDMA only mode? Other than that and rebooting and pulling the SIM, I can't think of anything else.

After that I'd call Verizon (from someone else's phone obviously!)
