Help phone turning on when i unplug from charging..

Newbie
sometimes i just want to unplug my phone after it is done charging without turning it on. 90% of the time it turns on after i unplug it, is there any way to avoid this?

mine does it anytime the power supply is unplugged from it, it wakes it up, is that what you mean? if so, just put it back to sleep, every phone I've ever had did it.

Me thinks people aren't fully turning off the Incredible.

There is a difference between just pushing the power button and turning the screen off - to holding the power button down and getting the menu with the top option of power off.

If I leave the phone on and "sleeping" yes the screen turns on when I unplug it. If I have the phone powered off the only change is the notification light going off.

i think what the OP means is.... if the phone is off and charging... sometimes when the phone is unplugged it will automatically turn on...

mine has done this a couple times....

I'm pretty sure thats not the case and he means the screen turns on, which is normal.

If it makes you feel any better this is what I assumed to OP meant as well. Does it sometimes to me too. Not a big deal because I usually want it to turn back on but the few times I have wanted it to stay off it has turned back on. Then you've got to wait wait for it to boot all the freaking way back up and then power it down again...

i think the op means when he turns it off to do the battery trick...since thats when i only have turned mine off... maybe the phone does that on purpose bc when your phone is fully charged, arnt you gonna turn it on anyways?

yeah, that's the only time I turn it off too (unless I have to reboot). But I think my problem is trying to figure out why it only does it sometimes, and not every time I unplug.

no i actually turn the phone off completely...the reason this bugs me is i usually charge it while sleeping and i don't want it charging all night long, so if i happen to get up to go to the bathroom i want to unplug it, but if it turns on ( which is always does) i have to wait for it to power back up and then turn it off again...which is annoying. None of my other phones have done this, but maybe it is a smart phone thing, and this is my first.

As I said in my posts above it is annoying and I dont know why is does it, but it could be worse. I came from the Motorola Droid and it wasnt possible to have the Motorola Droid plugged in and turned off at the same time. The second you plugged it in it would turn on

that is annoying! well i tried something different, i just unplugged it from the charger, as oppose to pulling the charger out of the socket and it didn't turn on..lol..who knows how it works and why. It's ok, I will deal with it. There are worse things in life i am sure.

I did this too, but it turned on! lol

Here is an easy answer. Just leave it plugged in. It's not going to continue charging. Once the light turns green it's done. It will not over charge. If you want it off the plug it in and turn it off. It will charge and do its thing and then stop and be there ready for you fully charged (not overcharged) in the morning.
