Picture Quality

Hey if anyone could help me, i have a question.

what camera apps do you guys recommend????? Besides stock camera, i'd like to know which u guys would suggest.

Oh and i just took my avatar on my front cam

When I take pictures in dark areas using the flash people seem to glow. I think its because the flash doesnt turn on long enough and thus the camera is still adjusting to the light. Any ideas or settings that will remedy this?

The people glow because you're hitting them with a bright LED. If you want to mess around with it though, download LED Desire Light and you can turn the LED on manually, that way you won't be dependent on the camera doing it for you.

Camera 360 is terrific. It's nothing short of ridiculous in terms of features. In my opinion, it totally blows the default camera app out of the water.

Ahhh mecha i just brought it :)

I'm going to take some pix and try it out(i'm bored nothing else to do)

if i dont like it, i will get a refund haha

There are actually a few instances when my evo's camera takes a better pic than my canon powershot 780. If there is good lighting and you set the iso no higher than 200, you won't get as much noise, and the noise you do get can be taken out by photoshop easily. any higher ISO and it start to effect the quality. Of course, for those indoor evening occasions where it's kinda dark, who cares about grain...it is a phone taking the pics isn't it?

Yea the first thing i did was follow instructions to set my ISO to 200. It helped alot.. and to the guy complaining about blur in action night shots. Take a regular point and shoot camera heck even if a DSLR with out a 2.8 Fstop lens, you will get this exact same motion blur. Its typical night time action shooting. Its due to lack of light hitting the lens. So dont get frustrated i have taken some really decent pics with this phone.

FxCamera (FxCamera - Android app on AppBrain) is great for taking pictures with various "styles" (similar to Hipstamatic on the iPhone).

For post-processing, I think Photoshop.com Mobile (Photoshop.com Mobile - Android app on AppBrain) is absolutely a necessity on your phone - can crop, do various editing, etc.

Here's a shot I took to show someone my lighter I got as part of graduation that's from the mid 1940's (so far from the 5 places we've taken it to have it looked at). So far, the average price we're being told it's wroth is like $160. FYI, not selling it, and my boot camp is actually in Great Lakes, which I'll be going to December 14th, yay for a white christmas! :\

That would look absolutely fantastic with a macro lens attached :P.

EvoFrick - I drive past those same things every day!!!

<rant>For the record everyone....Megapixel count means nothing without optics to back it up. Yes, this device takes great photos for a phone. If you want superior quality, get a camera with a good lens. </rant>

incorrect. a 2.8 lens is more than fast enough for a mlb ballpark where there is plenty of lighting. esp with a capable dslr like the canon 40d.

ive done it many times.

Having issues with my Evo pic quality. I'm shooting in 8mp setting, but pix always come out grainy. Also, files are never more than 2.4 mb and are usually under 2mb all together. Want a 2nd opinion before I go marching back to Sprint. Here are some shots taken with the 8mp setting (yes, I'm sure). The shot of the watch is with the front camera (default 1.3mp setting).: What I'm most concerned with is the file size of the pix. Should they really be under 2mb. My 10mp digital camera takes 10mb file shots. Shouldn't it be the same thing?

The camera on the EVO, just like any other camera can only be as good as the person using it to take the pictures. Photography is not as simple as point and click there is really quite alot to it, I suggest picking up a book on photography and giving it a quick read through it just might help you appreciate the camera on the EVO that much more :)

Cheers
