Root picture saving prob.

Guys I cant seem to save pics any more from the web just by holding down on the picture from the screen.Im running [ROM]-[MikRoms]-HTC Runnymede-Beta[sense 3.5 GB 2.3.5]. Maybe someone has had the same issue.If its a bug, no biggie !!!!!

moved you over to the rooting section.

have you checked the download folder? what browser are you using?

Folders is empty,Using Google. It doesnt show the pop up window asking if I want to save image after a long press of the screen.I cant find it in the settings.

I'm guessing that you ate using the stock browser. It should work by long pressing it. Try weeping dalvik cache and cache and see if that helps. if not then try a different browser. I use dolphin as my browser and do not have any issues.

Does long-press work for any other apps on your phone such as the desktop? If it doesn't, you have a problem with the ROM's software and should probably reflash.

If it isn't that, then it could be something else.

When you hold down, does it pop up a menu of some kind asking what you like to do? There should be some options such as "View Image", "Save Image", and sometimes "Properties". If you click save, then it should save in a folder.

I remember doing this because I hate most of the stock browsers that come with Android and I like using xScope and Dolphin and each of those save in weird places other than the "Downloads" folder. Try searching EVERY folder. Or connect it to your PC/Mac and search the SD card's contents for the picture's name.

If you still don't find it, it could be a problem with your SD card.

a cool thing about dolphin, it does pop up and ask you what you want to do with it, and, once you download it, you can hit menu / tools, in dolphin, and it has a downloads button where you can find your dl!

Thanks ocnbrze, I wiped cache and dalvik, works like a charm.I know everytime i get stuck you guys are here to help!!! Gonna try Dolphin right now.Sounds awesome!!!

Is it possible to go directly to dolphin from the search key on the EVO ? Ive been trying. I know i can get it on one of the home screens.But just womdering.

you need to clear the defaults for the stock browser. go to settings/app/manage apps/select the all tab/find the stock browser/clear default. next use the search key and a pop up window should appear asking for which browser you want for the specific action.

great thanks.One more thing i cant solve.Everytime I get a voice mail I also get a text message saying I have a voicemail.The wierdest thing!! Its getting annoying. The text says ANDROID has sent you a sprint voice message.Then I call the number on the text and it asks me if I have a mms equiped phone.I answer yes by pressing 1.Then i hang up.This happens every time i get a vm.I dont know how to stop it.VM is working fine.
