Help PIN no.?

Recently got a 3G-enabled SIM from Vectone and am trying to get it to 'see' the 'Net via 3G with v. poor results. Their service is enabled by telling them my phone no. and them giving me the PIN.

I just don't know where the PIN is supposed to be entered. Any ideas? The obvious idea is to email Customer Support (please wait 2 days) or ring them (a long wait and calls dropped) so please don't suggest it!

Never heard of Vectone. Is your phone locked to one provider and the PIN they are giving you is to unlock it? If so with the Hero when you first put the new SIM in the phone you should get a message inviting you to put PIN in to unlock.

Cracked it in spite of Vectone's less-than-clear instructions.

V. is an el cheapo UK co, running off T-mobile network. Chief attraction is the 5p per minute call rate. Much advertised on local bus shelters.

Interesting, thanks. It might help other users if you checked the APN details on your handset against those listed for T-Mobile in this thread, and made a post for Vectone if they differ.
