Help Plantronics A2DP Bluetooth Noise Issue

ratibars

Lurker
My Plantronics Voyager Pro Plus (a2dp) headset doesn't work well with the Optimus. The voice is not clear and often I can hear a background noise. And the people I call also not able to hear me well at times. This same bluetooth device worked perfectly with my old phone (Motorola Karma).

Could my phone be faulty? Or do I have to change the bluetooth headset?

Thanks in advance.

I have 2 bluetooth devices I use, one clips onto my steering wheel (about $40) and it's an FM transmitter so it goes Phone -> Steering Wheel -> radio wirelessly. It's pretty bad ass, except the clip broke :( no worries though, it fit into my middle console between the 2 seats.

I also got a cheap $8 pair of bluetooth headphones from china, they're cheese as all hell but the sound quality and comfort is incredible. I gotta say other than the more expensive headphones having more cushion, these sound far better than $200 analog headphones like that Dr.Dre set.

Only complaint is, around cops it tends to go silent for brief periods like their radio jams it or something. It's actually kinda convenient when i'm going a little faster than I should be lol...

As far as your noise problem. It could be a buggy bluetooth implementation on the headset. They're not all the same at all. I'm telling u, get an $8 pair from china on ebay.

need a better bluetooth the Motorola brand are good. check out this one Walmart.com: Motorola HK200 Bluetooth Headset: Cell Phones
Hang on there bobaluee.

Before you spend some coin on a new headset, my wife had the same problem with her Plantronics 510 Voyager and she ended up buying a Jabra.
We both have Optimus M's by the way.

I had an old Motorola HT500 that worked just fine, except for a delay in picking up a call after the phone had visibly answered, but I always liked her Voyager so I deleted the HT500 from my phone and pared up the Voyager.
It worked just fine without tany of the problems she was having and the delay issue went away.
Just for grins, I re-pared the HT500 and the delay issue went away.

So, you might try telling your phone to forget the device and then re-pare it.

Thanks for your responses.

jabbawest, I have re-paired it so many times but it was of no use.

Today I went to the store and got the phone replaced. After that called up my friend and he said I sounded fine. Called up another friend on his landline, talked to him for a long time and then asked him if he can hear me well. He said my voice was breaking a little bit. I heard him well enough but not as clear as it was with my old Motorolo phone.

So I'm going to try out a new headset. I am thinking about buying Plantronics Voyager Pro which does not have a2dp ( I suspect a2dp in my pro plus is causing the problem).

If any of you know of any headset that works really well with Optimus please let me know. All I look for is excellent voice clarity to me as well as for the person at the other end.
