Help plastic part of my htc legend came off

hey guys i have an htc legend and the plastic part that holds the battery and keeps the lid from sliding off just broke I'm out of the garanty and I cant buy a new phone just for a plastic part
is there a way to go fix it like mcguyver style

Hi Tom.
Did you succeeded to find a solution?
I have the same problem (plastic part broken).
And it's really annoying with the battery going off from time to time.
