Play Store frequently crashes when accessing My Apps

This began more than a month ago, I think. Nearly every time I go to the Play Store and choose My Apps, the list of updates shows for a few seconds and then the app closes. The second time I open it, it will be fine. I've had this phone since December and would guess this weirdness has been going on for at least a month. Stock. not even a 3rd party launcher. Most other apps are well behaved. Any ideas? I check updates frequently, so it's kinda annoying--I prefer to decide what I will update, rather than letting everything "auto-update".

From home, menu->settings->applications->manage applications. Find the Play Store (you probably need to go to the "All" tab) and tap it, and look for a button at the top that says "uninstall updates". Tap that.

Then go back into the Play Store. It should ask you to confirm the terms. At some point it will re-update to the latest version of itself.

(Sometimes Play Store updates go bad. This just clears out the latest version of itself.)

You can also try clearing cache or clearing data from that same manage applications screen, but that tends to work less frequently than just uninstalling updates.

Same thing happens to me on my GSII. I just expect little bugs since I am using an alpha ROM, but maybe I should look into it now since you are having the same problems on a different phone.

I tried what I bolded. I got an error: "can't uninstall updates". "application not installed" HELP!! do i need an APK?

FYI, I've just rebooted the phone and will see if that gets it back. There was a suggestion on a google help page that mentioned doing that. wish me luck or tell me how to get it back, please.

EDIT: Rebooting and going into the apps to select Play Store got me to a screen to reinstall. All is well again (unless it starts crashing as I mentioned in the OP).

In every case I have seen prior to this one all it took was ...

Settings|Applications|Manage applications|All|Google Play Store
Select Clear data

After you exit you will need to wait as much as a few minutes before it is refreshed.

I had this issue once after rooting my phone and freezing a few applications. The Play Store was constantly crashing. I eventually uninstalled the updates for the store and re-downloaded them. This seemed to help a bit, but it still crashed sometimes. I then gradually unfroze some apps and eventually it stopped. I wasn't able to narrow down exactly which app was the issue. But the combination of those two things solved the problem for me.
