So Google updated their Market to Play Store now. Who has gotten the update and who hasn't ? I have not gotten it yet. For the people who do have it what has changed?

I'm not completely sure, but it's because the market now has music, games, apps, books and google is trying to unify them all together... You can google it and find more articles. I can't really explain since I don't know exactly why.

I believe it is to unify the Google brand some more. And to bring Android more completely under that umbrella. So pretty much just re-branding so people cannot miss the connection between Android and Google.

I read that Google wants to make it a one stop portal for phones, tablets, and PCs. Sort of their version of Amazon.

I read a book , I don't play with it, personally I like better the name "market" from before, only good thing is the Icon in my opinion;)

Anyone else's play store suddenly stop opening? Cleared the data on it after it did and it still won't open.

Went into app drawer and it worked there. Went back to homescreen and not working. Replaced the homescreen app and all is working again. That seems very random but oh well.....

I'm thinking there was 2 updates.
First, the market icon on home screen went down. Replaced it with new icon for Play from drawer, then today the Play icon quit, and i had to replace it again from app drawer.

Google did this to unify everything on Google, including Chrome books (that's a rumor). Anything you buy on one device will be able to start off from where you left it (movies and books) just like a kindle.
