Root PlayStation pocket on my esteem!

Ok.. I finally finished this. I just played crash bandicoot 3. I got the game apps working so they are totally playable, and crash is smooth as butter. Still trying to get PlayStation store to recognize my phone as an xperia play but, hopefully, It shouldn't be too much longer, and yes the emulator is built into these games so you won't need any off of the market for these.
I didn't sleep much last night so I'll finish this in the morning.

Oh, my photobucket is acting up but here is a pic
thats pretty cool.. and hey check the experia build.prop for a fingerprint for playstation store (same as device fingerprint for market) maybe you can port it over to the build of the rom your using :D

Ok. I FINALLY fixed the links, for some reason it was pasting over the next one in line.
Anyway, if anyone would like to try and help me figure out what in the build.prop is stopping the ps store from recognizing the esteem as an xperia. Here is the build.prop

Device make model and fingerprint most likely. Its all in the top portion of the prop.

Find a copy of an xperia build prop and mimic it

I did that. I can change the footprint and device name but when I change the device model my phone, boot animation stutters and loops over and over.
Is it possible to add another device name to build.prop?

I got to change everything but when I rebooted it lagged bad and I had no signal.

Damn really? I didn't have anything like that happen. I hope you did a backup.
IM very software illiterate. The fact that I got this to work was just a process of elimination.
I am going to uninstall everything and start from the beginning to see if that happens to me.

yeah im trying to change the build prop.
ima change it one by one see which one is the culprit.
ill report back once i find it.

i never do back ups haha.
just have roms in my phone ready to flash.

That's cool. I have one backup. I use clockworkmod recovery because I can select to only restore my system. Comes in handy and doesn't take as long as a full restore.

just so you know there are only two things to add to build.prop to get this working

So I guess you can make any device, I just did the seething to my tablet. So I guess, theoretically, anything can be ps certified.

yeah thats what pretty much a rom does.
just overwrites system, data stays untouched. :)

alright, and those two things are?

OHHHHH, im trying to get the pstore to recognize the esteem as an xperia, :p
thats why im messing with more of the buildprop.

The only thing you change is fingerprint. leave everything else alone :) but wat i meant was look for somethin from experia build.prop that is related to pss or just the fingerprint in general

I changed so many things in the build.prop it's insane. First I tried 1 thing at a time, then everything that was relevant all at once, different combinations of different settings. This thing is crazy. I think I need to sleep. I'll work on it some more tomorrow.

Yeah I screwed my phone up several times before I finally got it.
Um... I don't have a video camera but I will simplify the instructions tomorrow.

Easier instructions are in Original/ very first post.
Sorry for all the mishaps. I am still new

ok i added the two lines to my build.prop and added the files to my system. i installed preinstalledservices.apk and now im trying yo install pspocket.apk. psstore.apk isnt in the zip. pspocket wont install. im kinda confused with the two seprate tutorials and two diferent download links in the posts... please help.

thats cool we all have to start somewhere. maybe someone with more knowlege can step in and make a 1 step flashable zip. thanks for the effort no less!!!

yes please somebody do that. I am just continually adding to a bigger train wreck of a post.
Has someone successfully got ps pocket app on their phone yet.
I have installed and reinstalled at least ten times to see if I left something out, but it installs fine everytime Oh I found out you only need the ps pocket app, it has an integrated ps store button.

I followed your instructions and it installed perfectly. Pstore is pspocket.apk.
Problem is I couldn't play because I couldn't find the onscreen pad.

I haven't tried any of the psxperia 2.0 games yet. I have only played the actual xperia games. Those others ones are made from ps1 disk iso's so they may not have an option yet but there is another tread on irish mobile games site that someone was trying to add this option to the .zpak. I'll try and find it again

Idk if this will help you all or not but I found where someone did a system dump of one and I grabbed the build prop out of it:

these parts look usefull in a way.. but im sure some are un-needed and could possibly break the esteem :( dont use these in build.prop untill doing some research lol i dont want the guilt

I tried changing everything. most changes caused a bootloop . I just bought an xperia off Craigslist so I am going to work on this wildlife before I put out something that only half works again.

when i installed everything, same as above, no keypad/controller on screen, even in settings....
